INteresting to think that these are only a few examples, think of the probably significant number of people who dont have the support or confidence to take forward complaints of discrimination

I couldn't access the first one and to be honest couldnt be bothered anymore after reading the second because you are completely missing the point of the thread.

The LL had EVERY right to ask the OP to leave HIS premises without having to give an explaination. Even more so with it being after closing time.

I agree that NO-ONE should be discriminated against but as I said, you're missing the point!

I had a friend who was a singer. He was hot/adored by most women from 5-105

I used to go and watch him play.

I never spoke to him on those occasions; as his friend I could speak to him at any time. And at the end of his gig, he really wanted to pack up, have a pint with a mixture of fans saying "that was good" and get off home (like we all do when we've finished working)

As his friend I would buy his tapes/CDs with a minimum of fuss/interaction. When I saw he was selling to others, I'd just pop over, stick the right money in his hand and take the CD. No need to speak.

He was mithered by women who would try to dominate his after-gig time, thus preventing locals from whatever pub he was in from speaking with him, buying a CD. Some would scare him they were so persistent.

The reason I need to go to the pub to buy his CD is that I don't see so much of him any more. We used to spend a lot of time together working with my son, which is how we became friends, but now, he has a partner and has moved away, and altho we are still friends, I don't see so much of him any more because he has finished working with my son.

I asked for A link. The first that I could connect to I did read but it did nothing to add to the point of the thread.

Fantastic point to what the link poster is making, nothing to do with why the OP was asked to leave the pub and the fact that the LL was well within his rights!!

Several of the links that neiljc provided proved his point that you cant ban every person for no reason and he had pointed out this was to correct a statement by another poster ,not in direct reference to the case of the OP (which seems like straightforward banning cos they dont want her hanging around.)

Why does some one have to come out with the 'but what if it's discrimination?' everytime a person's nose it put out of joint?

Sometimes people just dont like other people regardless of what sex/colour/disability they have. Is it just me that want to say from time to time 'Its not because you're XYZ, its because you're a complete T.wat.!'

In this instance, the OP who is the 'best friend' of the musician, wants to hang up mistletoe,buys two CDs in two days, taking an hour the first time, and causing the landlord to ask her to leave the premises the second time can be viewed as 'abit odd' (sorry Op)

If he was worried that I was stalking him, he wouldn't have signed me into the Legion, and wouldn't have invited me into a private function he was singing at, let alone helped me straighten my garden and bought a dog for me to purchase for my son.
He lives with his partner now, in Glasgow, and since I live much further up north, we don't see each other as much as we used to. That is why I have to wait for him to come up to the pub to gig.
