If I am sober can a pub bar me?

I went to the Blackfriars pub in Inverness because my best friend, Trevor James was singing there in November. We talked, I bought a CD, my son and I bought some things at his van and someone took a picture. According to the pub owner that took 1 hour 30 minutes. I went again on Saturday because he was singing again, and was told to leave at closing time. I was trying to buy a CD and was told I spent too much time after closing talking to him and it wasn't going to happen again. When I complained I was told that I didn't have to come back. The pub was full and they weren't having trouble getting me out this time. But his attitude all night was that I was a pain in the neck and he did not appreciate me being there. I drank diet coke and tomato juice, no strong drink, but can he bar me?
Time is more valuable than money. You can get more money but you can't get more time

yes, you don't have a divine right to be allowed entry, nor does a premises have to have a good reason not to allow you in.Bought, not Brought0

How was the OP being a nuisance though,No Links in Signature by site rules - MSE Forum Team 20

I didn't say he was, but he doesn't need to be doing anything to be refused entry or asked to leaveBought, not Brought0

basically as its a pub, your being invited in and the landlord can decidewho he wants in his premises, he doesnt have to give an excuse either.xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0

I got barred from my local just because the women of the village didn't like me and the landlady was their friend. I was barred until it changed hands 18 months later.

My reading is that after the band finished the OP caused the bar to have to stay open longer, possibly paying staff and musicians as he was talking to his friend
The fact is he seems to have been there when he shouldnt have been and that could be a nuisance to the staff or cost cash to facilitate
It seems the owners have decided to prevent a repeat

private property so you have no right to be there and it can be a pain in the !!! at closing time with all the 'friends' of a band/dj/bar staff hanging around - you don't seem to have done any favours by staying when you were asked to leave.0

You were asked to leave at closing time, and you have a problem with that? If he is your friend no doubt you can buy a CD off him at any time.
What I don't understand is why on the first night did the landlord not just throw evryone out who was not
a) In his employ
b) a member of the band - who would be packing up their kit.The pub was full and they weren't having trouble getting me out this time.
Sounds like he has not barred you, he just made sure you left at closing time. Can you blame him for that?0 -

Not strictly true
Pub landlords have succesfully been taken to court for disability discrimination for instance, so where discrimination which is covered by legislation could be the reason for barring entrance this is not allowed.0
