It was closing time, they asked you to leave....and you complained?

You had already bought a CD the night before, so why the need to buy another one, the next night, at closing time?

You said, 'they had weren't having trouble getting me out this time', which to me, reads that they had trouble getting you out the night before, so no wonder they asked you to leave.

Doesn't make sense to me sorry.
Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...
  • What happened was the pub was full of people singing when we were asked to leave, but....

For Trevor's sake, I will grovel and apologize. The landlord hires him to work there and I don't want to foul that up. And if I grovel nicely the landlord might let me put up some mistletoe over where Trevor sings. :blushing:

All business premises are private property .. the owner retains the right to deny people entrance or to ask them to leave .. the owner does not need to have a reason although obviously they will have one (sometimes trivial, sometimes more serious)

    ask trevor whats going on,

more than likely the manager / landlord said a few things about it all after you left.

people do that in the heat of the moment..

Being cynical here and I've probably got completely the wrong end of the stick...you didn't by any chance start to look a bit like an over enthusiastic fan did you?

many people who get a fan base start to feel a little pressured sometimes by fans trying to be friendly but possibly over extending their welcome and the singer himself may well have asked the landlord to quietly ask you to leave, rather than embarrass you. A very similar thing happened to a lady I know who writes and has a very enthusiastic fan following and lots of websites about her. Whilst she does of course wish to be friendly and charming to her fans some do alarm her by always being at every signing or talk she does, hanging round for hours, buying her gifts and wanting to be 'best friends' with her. She has on occasions asked book shop staff to politely remove a fan so that she can leave the premises without finding certain people waiting outside to talk to her again.

In your first post you refer to the musician as being your best friend, so maybe it would be more appropriate anyway to chat and generally spend time with him when he is not on a professional gig? That way you get his undivided attention and wouldn't have to worry about causing any upset when he works.

    Not strictly true

Pub landlords have succesfully been taken to court for disability discrimination for instance, so where discrimination which is covered by legislation could be the reason for barring entrance this is not allowed.

But I think the post is assuming there is no discrimination just what the landlord wants to do/decided to act.

Discrimination is also very hard to prove.
