I was going through the process of signing up for the deal with added "anytime phone calls" but they then stated I would be issued with a new phone number so didn't  bother.

I don't understand why they would need to do that when I have been with several broadband suppliers over the years and hasn't been a problem.

I think all service providers (gas, electricity & phone) are now obliged to quote charges as VAT inclusive.
I’m going to ring shell and see what they say...Thank you

My mistake!! The vat is there on invoice but is part of the offer price. I had extra days that must have added up to nearly the same as the vat.🙄
    All is well with shell

The £120 credit comes in 3 months. When I signed up there was no mention of this in the confirmation details, Do I just assume this will happen?

On another point, I am returning to my house having been abroad for 3 years so am not swapping providers but startling afresh. They are saying activation date will be September 1st. I move back in on the 19th.surely they can do this quicker?

    Email from shell:
"Now that you’re with Shell Energy Broadband, you won’t ever have to worry about a price rise at the end of your contract......
Your current supplier will probably try to contact you to talk you out of switching. But remember - they’re only likely to raise the prices at the end of any deal they offer, which we’d never do. And with access to exclusive rewards, including savings on fuel at Shell service stations, you’re much better staying with us....."
So it going to £32 a month is not an increase then? What a load of BS

  • Hi

Re Shell broadband. I did get a deal through MSE in Sep 2019 which went fine. The contract expires this month with the options of either going up by £6 a month or paying £15 cessation charge before switching to another provider!!. Even after the contract ends!!!
I was not made clearly aware about this charge neither by MSE not Shell before I signed u . It was buried deep in section 5 of the terms and conditions and mentioned once in a 28 page charges document with no details.

I think this is clearly a mis-sold product and customers should have been made aware well before going ahead.
