How to report someone breaching travel quarantine

We've been very good about complying........up until now!
We've all watched powerless as Black Lives Matter, right in the midst of lockdown, held 'protests' all over the damned country. Allowed to get away with it unchallenged & unrestricted, with precious little criticism for fear of being called racists & their protests continue, week in week out, in London to this day. Following their lead there have been raves & street parties in various cities, beaches PACKED.
Personally, I'm sick & tired of complying when all this is allowed to continue regardless. So shortly we're going on a pre C-19 arranged overnight stay to Manchester 3 hours from where we live. We'll be in a hotel overnight with our Mancunian grandchildren while their parents celebrate an occasion on their own for the day/night. Then we'll drop them back at theirs in the morning & make our way home.
When we get back we'll be mindful as we have been until now, but I'm done with this full on protection of others. I've watched arrogance & selfishness every time we've gone out, masked, sanitising & social distancing, while others simply don't bother. So we protect them & they couldn't give a stuff about us. We'll be 72 & 66 when we go, & I am the main visitor for my 93 year old mother - but I'm so sick & tired of others & enough is enough.
Would I report a neighbour or co-worker, possibly, possibly not. Do what you think is right.Seen it all, done it all, can't remember most of it.1 -
The European press are reporting that Spain intends to revert to its own lockdown on September 18th (presumably to eek out what they can of the summer season first..) by closing its borders to France and Portugal and cancelling all non-essential flights. If that doesn't work phase 2 will see the closure of most shops cafes etc. The Spanish themselves are worried, so we probably have every reason to be worried about those returning from Spain, the press say Boris has been told (last Sunday allegedly) but strangely everything is very quiet back here at home1

If this country had fewer ignorant people then there'd be no need.pdel61 said:Ah yes, there's been quite an increase in the population of curtain twitchers in the last 5 months.2 -
You could say the same about the original full lockdown. The drop in cases might have happened without the lockdown.silvercar said:
Either the lockdown is working and we are not seeing a spike in cases or the lockdown wasn't necessary as it isn't spreading around the area.sheramber said:
Which is what the lockdown was implemented to achieve- stop the spread of the virus. Good to see it is working.Mrsn said:
My mum is a nurse at one of the hospitals in Leicester centre they are very quiet in terms of COVID patients and around 95% of those with symptoms are negative. She works on the ward you get sent too after A&E so a fair picture of the situation in my opinion.blindman said:Not surprisingly all is quiet on that front too.
Unfortunately we don't know which is the case.0 -

If you look online again, you can report it to West Mercia police, which seems to cover you.luckylucy1977 said:Hi all,
Really sorry if this seems like a mean post, I am not a horrible person.
I lost a family member to Covid so to see people breaking the rules and possibly spreading the virus to other loved ones that could have a fatal effect breaks my heart.
We have a neighbour that returned with her husband and 13 year old daughter and 9 year old son from holiday in Spain on Friday and she keeps breaking the rules. She has had several visitors over drinking, her daughter is spending most of the day outside playing with other children and she goes out to different shops at least 4 times a day. I thought it was a strict 14 day lockdown. She is a very aggressive neighbour so not approachable and she has been breaking the rules since March as well.
I would like to report as I have had enough now. It’s been tough for everyone to stay indoors and completely change your life but we have all done it to protect everyone.
Its horrible to think she could unknowingly have the virus and be spreading it to vulnerable loved ones.
I live in Worcestershire and have looked online but can’t find out where to report it.
Thank youPlease note - taken from the Forum Rules and amended for my own personal use (with thanks) : It is up to you to investigate, check, double-check and check yet again before you make any decisions or take any action based on any information you glean from any of my posts. So you're rationalising your selfishness by asserting that others are doing the same thing? I'd have thought that most grandparents of your vintage would have been brought up on sayings like 'two wrongs don't make a right'....SevenOfNine said:Personally, I'm sick & tired of complying when all this is allowed to continue regardless. You DO know that the policy of this forum is to BE NICE, don't you? OP says she's lost someone to Covid, so naturally is very worried about her ignorant neighbour's behaviour.blindman said:
Stop watching her and get on with your life.luckylucy1977 said:Thank you everyone. I am one of the very lucky people who gets to work from home during this pandemic and it’s driving me nuts watching her go out all the time and her husband go out to work and kids playing outside. We have followed the rules and our kids have been stuck inside. I am going to report her now. I feel really guilty as I am not the type of person to snitch but she ‘could’ have the virus and is potentially spreading it.
Let her transmit the virus to her own family if she must.
Hopefully a case of Darwins Law.
Don't feel guilty about reporting it though.
Nothing to do with Darwin's Law which, as we all know, is a key mechanism of evolution - the change in the heritable traits characteristic of a population of generations.

No, I'm not attempting to rationalise my decision, & it wasn't my intention to give the impression I was. I'm going to do exactly as I please, have not kept it secret, & if stopped by the Police I'll tell them exactly where we're going (or where we've been) & why. We can even be track & traced through the hotel booking (I think).eskbanker said:

I'm absolutely going to be selfish & self centered, couldn't give a stuff about "2 wrongs". I'll live with my own conscience & sleep at night.
Seen it all, done it all, can't remember most of it.0
