The strategy of relying on people to self isolate is -flawed- as the above has shown.parcival said:
All well and good but she transmits to her family who then transmit to the wider population and before we know it we have another lockdown....
If this was a high mortality rate virus-then maybe the Govt would enforce better "security" so selfish people would not ignore any "rules"
It is not, so we have these weak rules
BTW
Anyone got statistics that show excess deaths due to the recent local spikes in say Leicester?
Funny how that is not publicized as I bet it's zero....0 -

Will be very interested to see if this occurs in Spain1 -
But surely there would be a "spike" in hospital admissions as this virus is so deadly.....JamoLew said:

Not surprisingly all is quiet on that front too.0 -

My mum is a nurse at one of the hospitals in Leicester centre they are very quiet in terms of COVID patients and around 95% of those with symptoms are negative. She works on the ward you get sent too after A&E so a fair picture of the situation in my opinion.blindman said:Not surprisingly all is quiet on that front too.0 -

Pity that does not make news headlines...0 -
Which is what the lockdown was implemented to achieve- stop the spread of the virus. Good to see it is working.Mrsn said:

Either the lockdown is working and we are not seeing a spike in cases or the lockdown wasn't necessary as it isn't spreading around the area.sheramber said:

Unfortunately we don't know which is the case.

Ah yes, there's been quite an increase in the population of curtain twitchers in the last 5 months.0
