Why is this news, it is the norm :#
Can get in on the app ok but it falls over when having to complete the new security questions on line. MrsM set the questions ok though.
What a surprise, TSB foul up a web upgrade.

I struggle to get in most days. It's always 2nd or 3rd attempt

Forum ahead as usual - discussed already today here:  https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6178202/tsb-internet-banking-not-working-this-morning
But, yes, this is not news!  Happens all the time.  Took me two goes to login this morning.  And when I got in the summary screen was blank - didn't fill until I waited for 2 minutes and then manually refreshed it.  This is normal for TSB.

If it's normal for TSB why are people still banking with them?  I don't understand!  Change to another bank.

It's not normal, I've had no trouble since "the big one".
Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.

I suspect many on here will be like me who don't 'bank' with them but have the account & just keep the £1500 in for the interest.

Plus loads just don't like switching banks & loads of older folk don't trust online banking, so won't have experienced any issues.

Although TSB's are well highlighted, I find Nat West just as bad if not worse.

    It isn't normal.

I won't pretend that TSB is perfect: it isn't. But it's nowhere near as bad as some here would have you believe. In any case, what bank is perfect? I've had an account with TSB for about six months or so. There've been a couple of minor problems in that time, but nothing serious, and nothing that warrants dumping it. In my experience, it's a vast improvement on RBS (which is my benchmark for awfulness). I see no need to switch my TSB account to another bank in the near future. Of course, other people might have, or have had, different experiences of TSB, and might reach a different conclusion.

Logged on about 10 minutes ago without any problems, in fact at the time I thought the login response time was faster than usual.

Sounds like a knee jerk response to a minor issue and I have no thoughts of moving my account.

I have been a TSB account holder since 2013. As ZeroSum suggests, I am one of the many who simply hold TSB accounts for savings purposes. As such, I don't need to log in more than once a month, and I was lucky in that I never experienced any issues. Those who were unfortunate enough to be caught by the TSB debacle a while ago did get ample compensation. Sadly, as I was unaffected, I couldn't even put a claim forward........

That aside, TSB also had a cashback offer from which those with patience have been able to benefit.

No bank is 100% perfect, which is the reason why everyone should have a backup arrangement, ideally in the form of a second (or third etc) current account. One or two credit cards, or an arrangement with a partner etc could be another alternative.
  • I've held a TSB account (well a few) for a few years and never had an issue. It's our primary business act as well.

My only gripe would be the lack of functions available on the business app. You need to login to a poota each time you want to add or edit a payee and things that should be possible via the mobile app.

The personal accounts, like Colsten above, I only shove £1500 in them and move money around to get free money each month. I've only got 3 TSB Classic mind you......
