  • Still having issues logging onto TSB online banking. As above it is coming up with security questions followed by error code. Been trying to log onto the services since last Friday. Think more people are having trouble with services than TSB are letting on.

I have just logged in ok with Chrome. The app is also working fine for me right now.
  • No....this does not seem to be 'normal'.   It fails after the completion of the new security questions. Says it is a tech problem and asks you to call TSB.   I have tried on several systems and browsers, including Mrs Ted's computer/browser, but I get the same error every time (different header tracking code each time).   On the other hand Mrs Ted has had no problems at all on her normal computer and on my system/browsers.  So appears to be only certain customers !!    Calling TSB is a bit fruitless unless you have all the time in the world, and unless really urgent.  Very frustrating.

Occasional problems.  Didn't suffer with the major problems they had a while ago so no claim for that but did benefit in that they retained reasonable interest for longer than they would otherwise have done as a means of retaining customers.

Last month did get error message and that I needed to re-register in order to regain access.  When I tried that the message was that I couldn't because they didn't have a phone number for me.  Strange in that they had previously asked whether to send a code to my home number or my mobile!  Any way later on access was regained using previous login details.

Finally allowed me to get through the new security questions screen this morning.  The app certainly seems quicker than previously..
  • 1.09.20  This online banking issue is still a problem.  Tried to log in and got as far as receiving my OTPW, which once typed in lead to an error message.  Chat adviser suggested logging in again.  Which I did.  Same problem.  New chat adviser suggested calling 03458353844.  Which I also did to receive a recorded message that due to higher than usual calls at the moment...blah, blah and directed back to the webiste!  Followed the telephone menu options to find I was in a perpetual loop going back to...which one of the following would you like help with! Grrrh.

Fortunately, after having £3000 plus taken from my TSB account during the IT debacle in 2018 I no longer have my salary deposited into this bank, but top it up every week or so with a few hundred points - but  I do use the  debit card regularly.  Now I can't top it up.  My salary and savings now go to Nationwide who I've had no problems with for 40 plus years.  I just don't want to use my Nationwide debit card so that i can try and keep these funds safer (well as much as poss).  Any advice as to which other bank I could switch to, to replace TSB?  I had been with Llyolds since 1977 (!), but was forcibly switched when they were broken up.  Worth returning to?

No, but I'll now look into it.  Thanks.

Really? You could easily have opened an account with Lloyds, or any other bank, before your account was moved to TSB. I remember it being made crystal clear what was going to happen before any accounts were moved over. Lloyds was not allowed to make it easy for customers to stay with them, but it was entirely possible. If you enjoy banking in Toytown you'll love Virgin Money. If you don't want to expose your salary bearing Nationwide account by using your debit card, why not open a second Nationwide account just for day to day business?
