I went to my dentist the other day. I’m an NHS patient and they aren’t doing check ups until at least January. They did offer my an appointment with the hygienist for £50 including a £7 PPE charge. I took this as I didn’t want my teeth not to be examined for so long. The hygienist wasn’t allowed to use the normal machines and had to hand scale my teeth which she said is tiring work. The room also had to be left fallow for 20min after each patient so they’re not getting through much work.
The surgery usually has 3 dental rooms running plus the hygienist. The morning I went she was the only one working that I saw but the receptionist said they are seeing urgent patients now.
Dentistry is financially crippled by this!3 -
