I recommend Allerburn Lea in Alnwick. Tucked away behind Alnwick Gardens, you can walk through to Alnwick town. Does get noisy when they have celebrations at the castle, but most houses are double glazed.£216 saved 24 October 20141

Draw a line from Amble to Stannington and focus your search to the north and west of there. South and East of that line is the old coal mining region and generally less desirable.1

How about north of Berwick?
Health Warning: I am happy to occasionally comment on building matters on the forum. However it is simply not possible to give comprehensive professional technical advice on an internet forum. Any comments made are therefore only of a general nature to point you in what is hopefully the right direction.0 -
Just be very careful if you are moving from somwhere which has decent public transport and shops etc., to somewhere which potentially is "closed" during the winter. It would be a good idea to rent first to check it out.Debt free and Keeping on Track0
