Morning allIt is really quite chilly this morning (I wore a padded jacket for this morning's dog walk, and am sitting here in a fleece feeling a bit cold) and it seems hard to believe that the temp will apparently be 31 degrees later this week! Today's plans:Mr A shop arriving later, must get the boxes down from the loft for the delivery driver to put it in, as I have opted out of yet more plastic carrier bags! And then it will all need putting away.Sort out some stuff for a lady who is doing a car boot sale for the local air ambulance - charity shops aren't easy at the moment, the ones that are open require that you make an appointment to take donations in, so this seems a good opportunity to declutter some items. The lady is going to collect late afternoonPick anything ready in the gardenWater anything that needs itDinner will be the rest of the Soulaki lamb I have marinating in the fridge, and the rest of the huge pasta salad I made yesterdayMight make a cake with 4 not very tempting apples that seem to have taken up permanent residence in the fruit bowl.Hope everyone had a more restful night! I am not sleeping too badly atm, though I recognise the pattern of sleeplessness and catastrophising as well5

Morning all,
I woke at just after 4am again and could have cried! Luckily though I did drop back off to sleep this time.
Been for a walk around the block with ds2 (he's in a mood this morning - oh joy!)
Hopefully my dad is popping in with another lidl veg box thing.
Going to continue sorting the garage, yesterday we cut down a double headboard to make it a single for ds1s bed and for ds2s headboard we used the new desk top that we damaged on arrival a few weeks ago to make him a headboard. I got the kids to help me de-spring the mattress, so that we could get rid of the metal bits yesterday and the foam has been bagged up and can go into the loft. It may come in useful for cushions etc in the future.
Check banking
More of yesterdays stewed fruit for dessert
Update my shopping basket for tomorrows Mr t click and collet
Take care all.Sticking with the "Small things" thread to keep up us on the straight and narrow.

Afternoon all. Smalls have been back to one of their out of school activities for the first time, some normality for them. Other things:
mince out of freezer for tea, round up of a couple of bendy carrots, some
mushrooms and some frozen peppers will make it in to a perfectly yummy bolegnase
use up lunch liberating various pots in the fridge
DH and I both have medical appointments- grateful for private healthcare for these at the moment so as not to add further pressure on NHS.Made several home calls that were on my to do list
washing pegged out
think about next weeks meal plan so I can then amend online order
some paperwork to go through with DH tonight
think that’s about it for now. Purps.4 -
Morning all, Another rubbish nights sleep, awake since just before 4am and downstairs since about 5am.
So far...
* tried again to get registered for HMRC but failed. Will try again tomorrow
* ordered ds2s birthday card from Mo0npig and used a voucher code for 40% off
For the rest of the day
* make leek and potato soup for lunch for dh & I (will have with part baked rolls that are close to their best before date)
* make chicken and potato curry for tonight - using up bits and pieces of bendy veg from the bottom of the fridge
* guitar re-string... maybe
* check banking/update spreadsheet
* cut open the bottle of shampoo as there is probably at least a weeks worth left at the bottom
* read Martins email
* more tidying of the garage
* I've been getting a weekly click and collect from Mr T on a Wednesday but looked in the fridge yesterday and decided to delay it until Friday as the only thing we "needed" was fresh milk, I've still got fruit/veg/bread so we can make do with carton milk til Friday.
* get some free exercise, a walk or two and either a youtube workout or exercise dvd
That's my starter, take care all.Sticking with the "Small things" thread to keep up us on the straight and narrow.

Morning allDog walk done. Have things to put away (from yesterday's shopping - as*a order arrived, and I ventured into Mr S to get the things they hadn't sent, plus a couple of pairs of leggings and new slippers). My not very old and rather expensive slippers are falling to pieces so decided a cheap pair from Mr S would do just as well. Also did a 'proper' food bank donation. It is only my second visit to a supermarket since March, and I have been sending cash donations to the fb instead. I went at a quiet time (mid week, mid afternoon) so no queues but it was far from a pleasant experience
Anyway, I did a good stock up and hopefully won't need to go back for a while. I am turning into a bit of an anxious hermit
I have a dental appointment tomorrow, the dog needs to go to the vet for his injection and I need to go to a blood test, and I am freaking out a bit about it all. Consequence of spending months being cut off from the rest of the world I guess. Anyway, I will go for the dental appointment (which is the only one actually booked) and see how I feel after that, before broaching the other two.
Anyway, other things:Put away dry washing - I have a nasty feeling that a couple of items my need ironingTriage fridgeFreeze some of the apple cake I made yesterday, and some of the banana bread I made the evening beforeCheck banks and update spreadsheetA little bit of paperwork for my businessMore use up cooking - I have a leftover large potato so will be making that into fishcakes for dinner tomorrow, with a tin of tuna, a few leftover anchovies and some herbs and capers. Also have HM coleslaw to use up, so will have nice burgers from local butcher in rolls with salad and coleslaw for dinner todayI also have a lot of carrots, as the supermarket sent a huge plastic bag of them. They don't keep well in plastic, they go all soggy and horrid if you try to keep them for any length of time, so many make some soup with some of them, and find something else to store the rest in.
I have lots of home grown cherry tomatoes, so may convert some into sauce for the freezer.Hmm, sounds like a sorting and cooking sort of day, so I had better get on with some of it!4 -
Today I have/will:
1. Checked online banking
2. Phoned salon to pay for eyebrow tint I’m having tomorrow and booked next appt.
3. Paid £150 to Tesco credit card
4. Paid £150 off M&S Bank overdraft and reduced it to £250 therefore avoiding the 39.9% interest they will start charging at the end of the month
5. Been to Wilco and bought a big sack of bird food and it’s cheaper than buying the smaller bags. Also stocked up on cats favourite gourmet perle food while it’s reduced to £3.75
6. Meals from stores
Tesco: £1361.19, Vanquis: £2644.73, Very: £563.08, Next: £1636.95, M&S: £1049.92. As of 5th February 2024. Slava Ukraini5 -

@ziggy2407 I hope you and I both sleep better again tonight!!! I'm so tired and fed up of this now
@DawnW Sorry to hear how you're feeling about the appointments, I hope they all go well. We've only had click and collects and one quick pop into argos in sainsburys since lockdown so get how you're feeling.
@Bagpuss741 nice to "see" you back postingSticking with the "Small things" thread to keep up us on the straight and narrow.

Hope everyone has managed a good night sleep. I have a Ne0m organics diffuser by my bed that I was very generously gifted. They’re not cheap but I can definitely recommend them for helping with sleep. They are timed too which I really like so I only put on for an hour (saves on electric) and they are far prettier than most as they are ceramic.My list for today:
reconciled just for points card and paid it off in full
updated YN AB
purchased something online using vouchers from last just for points CC reward paid balance using discount card I have for same retailer saving a further 5%Signed up to an online delivery pass as the current offer we were kindly given due to shielding is due to end. Not our favoured SM but could use their own reward vouchers to pay for it so no cost to us and we’re not in any rush to go back to shopping in store so a compromise we need to make
another meal from our plan, our much reduced online order last week has worked out very well and fridge is nearly empty before tomorrow’s delivery and we’ve used some stuff up
deal with some courgettes, some will need to be frozen
triage fridge before delivery tomorrow.Amend online delivery for tomorrow.Knit
have a good day all. Purps.3
