Morning allBeen to a market this morning. Went early before it got too crowded, went back to the car when I started to feel uneasy. It was outside in a field, but I no longer feel comfortable around lots of peopleSorry to hear that you have been affected by the new restrictions @Baileys_Babe, and that your daughter can no longer go out to play
I absolutely respect your decision, but feel desperately sorry for children and young people in all this. I feel sure that restrictions will creep back in other areas too.
@carrielovesfanta I don't have much kitchen space either, so OH has converted the space under the stairs into a larder (the larger, higher bit) and a cleaning cupboard for the hoover etc (the smaller bit that goes to a point, if that makes sense). He made a frame for the front and added doors to fit, with ventilation at the top of the larder bit. The larder has wooden shelves which I have covered with old fashioned sticky backed plastic stuff so they are easy to wipe off. I also pulled the towels out of the nice old wooden cupboard on the landing, so that I could use it for storing longer dated stuff. Both spaces are quite nice and cool. My small stash of cleaning products etc are in a small cupboard under the sink in the loft bedroom ensuite, and in the eaves cupboard. These are only a few spares bought when on offer, but my cupboard under the sink is very small and only has room for things in current use. And I don't use many different types of products.Anyway, today's things:Label and put away the marmalade I made yesterdaySome housework (boo!)Update shopping order arriving on TuesdayMake marinade for lamb - I had intended to make a curry yesterday but the meat hadn't quite defrosted in the fridge. It will have done now, but I realised it is really nice quality local lamb. I will therefore make koftas with it instead of a curry - the frozen lamb from Iceland will do perfectly well for that.Water anything that needs it in the gardenPick any produce that is ready (and I will need a cucumber for lunchtime sandwiches)Dinner will be the rest of the big dish of enchilladas I made yesterdayHope everyone has a nice day5 -
Morning all.Your meals always sound so lovely Dawn
I feel very sorry too for people in the restricted areas, but only for the ones that have been complying all along and are now restricted again because of other peoples behaviour.Another day of staying at home here but plan to do a few jobs:
make a ‘free’ roast dinner using cauliflower and part of a previously cooked joint from the freezer. Will make home made yorkies to go with it.Dig out some lotions that have been tidied away to continue to use up
some knitting or sewing
We seem to have rather a busy week ahead so going to just check with DH we know what we’re doing each day
possibly go blackberry picking later
order something online but have vouchers from just for points CC towards part of it
Label jam made yesterday
have a good day all. Purps.5 -
@DawnW I don't have a cupboard under the stairs! But I do have a utility room, but the space isn't organised very cleverly and I'm restricted by the washing machine and the fridge-freezer. I might have a think about the space that I do have though. A couple of the cupboards are quite high and I could probably do with some of those wire shelves that make a little shelf (IYKWIM)LBM 11/06/2010: DFD 30/04/2013Total repaid: £10,490.314

@DawnW I think keeping the open cleaning materials is useful, especially if you live with someone like my OH, who just grabs the easiest container to reach of whatever it is he is looking for. We have separate storage places for open products and stored products, I need to remember this when planning our kitchen.Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent

Evening all,
We have built up a bit of a pantry over the last few months as at the start of lockdown we'd been running down our supplies as I was in spring cleaning mode. Then we locked down a week early as dh started with covid symptoms and then struggled to get supplies so a few extra bits have been bought each week to stock up again.
A lovely day here, spent the morning going for a 5mile walk around the marina and sea front with my dad. Home for lunch and then back to my parents with dh & ds's for the afternoon and stayed for tea.
Time now to watch a bit of snooker with dh and have a cuppa
Take care all.
