Afternoon all and lovely to see some new posters
Its a fab thread so I hope you stick with us.
Today is my dads birthday so we've spent the morning baking him a date cake, wrapped around a bow that I had from something i'd receieved and pinned a happy birthday badge to it that I find in the "birthday's box"
Ds2 & I did the cake.
Ds1 and I have prepped for his birthday tea, we've decided on enchilladas and salad which we had everything for which was good!
I've done another online workout and two walks around the block for exercise (was meant to be one but I forgot to take an rm survey letter to post!)
said rm letter posted
Lunch was mackerel, mayo, sweetcorn and grated carrot sandwiches - yum yum yum
Sent my dad his birthday card via moonpig email (and used a code to get 30% off)
Going to spend a bit of time in the garage now trying to sort it (old tenant has left so I've got bits we've cleared out of there that the new tenant didn't want leaving and I need to make space for a freezer I've ordered!
Thats about it, take care all.Sticking with the "Small things" thread to keep up us on the straight and narrow.

Hello everyone, great to see new people joining in 👋
I like this thread it feels like home.
This morning I fiddled around with the bank accounts. I also overpaid a smaller lump sum off the mortgage - this has/will be financed by the difference in payment between the original payment and the revised payment after paying off a lump sum last month (I have factored the revision of monthly payment by this 2nd overpayment - approximately) until the end of the yearI have made some notes of tweaks I would like to make to our accounts after payday.
Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent
79.5 coupons rolled over 4/75.5 coupons spent - using for secondhand purchases

Hi All I agree with people above about nastyness on some other boards, where people are busy deciding how people should - or not spend their money. I have been doing a bit of board hopping so have left some slightly random notes here and there - but mainly just trying to restate some of the things I have leaned in my last year on here. To be honest my life is a lot more organised now.
Today was dropping one ds off to train to airport - have slightly modified my services! And this was combined with a walk in lovely botanical garden with other ds and we brought lunch. Only investments was a new sports t for ds as some of the old ones sting and 2 cold bottles of limonade. It is really hard to keep a drink cold and fresh, so that was a luxury.
Then had cold drink with neighbour and a chillax in the heat preparing to work this evening doing some screen stuff.
Dinner is a catchall of whats in the fridge so will do some shopping - probably on Saturday.
Have a nice evening everybody.Isa help to buy: 1000/3000 33%

Afternoon allVery hot today but it is fairly cool and pleasant indoors, with the windows open and the electric fan on. Today I have:Walked dog first thing before it got hotTackled fruit trees which needed additional summer pruning, straight after breakfast, before it got too hot. Managed to give them a haircut without any bits falling over into odd, fussy neighbour's garden (I am taking little soft leafy twigs not huge branches lol, but gardening for them equates to outdoor housework, complete with hoovering....)Put all the stuff I had cut off into the compost binTidied up the tomato plants and watered themWatered the fruit trees after their haircutMade a big pot of chilli which will feed us for a couple of days, used up bits from fridge and freezer (operation run down freezers for defrosting continues)OH picked the tomatoes and raspberries, I found a few radishes and more courgettesWrapped 2 ebay parcels for posting tomorrow morning, will print out paperwork later to avoid queueing. Must wait to use the printer till OH is out with small dog - he barks most irritatingly at the printerChecked banks and updated spreadsheet. Can't believe it is the first of August tomorrow!More money moving shenanigans, finished now I think. Opened a NS&I savings account - best buy atm apparently. Now wait for the interest rate to drop now I have opened oneStill to do:More watering laterCheck the chilli for seasoning, and reheat it for dinner. Will do some rice and extra veg to go with it - griddled courgettes to use some of the mountain.4
