It has been very hot here today. Once it had cooled down we went into the garden we cut the grass and did about an hour tidying up, it looks much better but it will take many more hours before it looks reasonable.
We are in the part of the country affected by the new restrictions, only some of which have been published so far. As a result, we have had to cancel a few upcoming plans. However disappointing I would rather do that than put people at risk. I wish the easing of lockdown had been slower and so they impact of each easing phase could have been assessed before the next easing.
Laundry dried out in the sunshine, no ironing.
Finally finished writing the meal plan, which I think we started writing on Monday.
Had a chat with OH regarding the savings pots for the car insurance for each car. We both thought we should keep the amount we put in a month the same as despite saving over 40% yesterday as we can afford this level of contributions and this might be a freakishly low year for this year and it could shoot back up next year if it does we will have the money to pay and if it doesn't we will probably overpay the mortgage.
I started writing a shopping list, I'm not planning on going until Wednesday but I knew of a few things we need this week, this is to stop me forgetting them or going without a list like last week (hangs head in shame).Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent

Morning all. Little was done yesterday due to the extreme heat but hoping for a reasonably productive weekend. Today’s plans include:
triage fridge, do something with some of the contents - bake, cook and freeze depending on what needs using. Maybe some jam and a cake.
catch up on washing
put some clean washing away
do an hours work
put a return by the front door
Meal plan for next week and update freezer inventory
pause my veg box delivery. I love having these but I like to have a break sometimes just to catch up and use the produce we have, including what’s in the freezer
several forms to fill in, couple to post
e mail someone for some information
try and have a socially distanced cup of tea with pal later.Have a good day all. Purps.4 -
Morning allToday I have / will:Early morning dog walkWandered into the garden and picked some raspberries to go on top of my cerealMarmalade making today, with random citrus fruits from the fruit bowl - 3 oranges, 2 lemons and a lime. The peel / pulp is currently simmering to soften. Last night I washed the fruit, removed the (few) pips, squeezed out the juice and blitzed the remains in the processor. The juice is in the fridge to add later when I boil it all up with the sugar. It will be a softish set, and wouldn't win any prizes in the WI, as it won't look like clear jelly with even shreds of peel - but it will taste nice
I made pink grapefruit last time, but OH is on the last jar. It would herald a crisis if we ran out of marmalade in this house - and DDs always pinch a jar or two
I need to get to the post office with some parcels this morning before it closesI have taken some lamb out of the freezer to make a curryWill need to water the garden, or some of it, laterAnd do some housework. That will do!4 -
Hi here's my plans:
Take dog out
Eat breakfast
Have a good overall tidy
Complete work I have looked at but not done since Tuesday
Prep a creative project
Read a book
The simple life - tonight is my first evening alone for 4 month, so will celebrate by lounging on the couch or in the garden! Was going to hang w friends but I think everybody's too spooked to socialise at the moment.

All this talk of marmalade is making me hungry!
@Baileys_Babe I've often watched the news and felt glad to be in Wales as our relaxation of lockdown has been a little slower. I hope that your area, comes out of these restrictions soon.
Same old same old here today.
Exercised using an old dvd and a walk around the block. Our gyms here can open from the 10th but we've cancelled our membership.
All meals from stores, inc a fridge tidy salad for tea tonight.
Film night with dh from our stash this evening (unless he picks watching snooker instead, I don't mind either way)
Thats it for me I think.
Take care all.

We made the decision that dd can not play out with her friends in light of the new restrictions, she is unsurprisingly saddened by the news. Poor OH also had to explain to our decision to one of her friends who knocked for her.
OH's Dad called earlier and we chatted and put the world to rights for about half an hour. This is the first time in months where it was just the 2 of us on the call. Soon they are going to send me details of their landline/internet/call/tv package so I can find a cheaper deal.Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent

Morning folks
I'm not sure what happened to the time yesterday. I meant to post and never got round to it. I'm sorry for those who are hit with the new restrictions. I'm not very far from Manchester so I'm keeping a close eye on the various restrictions. OH and I had anticipated that this could happen and we have been slowly building up a food stock in case there are shortages again. We've decided that we'll probably keep a "pantry" long term. I need a better storage solution though. I don't have enough room in the kitchen. Maybe I need to have a good think about it.
I'm not suprised that the infections are going up though. I have seen plenty of folks on my SM that are hugging people, meeting up with too many households at once etc etc. OH and I are still being very cautious. We've seen his mum twice (tried to distance indoors - bit hard cos she keeps edging closer and closer and then got OH to help her finish dinner). We have had 2 lunches out. First place wasn't as good but the second place was very safe. It's huge anyway so we knew we'd be miles from anyone else. Only other thing was hair cuts and my two beauty treats yesterday. Beauticians was fab. We both had our masks on and there was a perspex screen between us.
Anyhoo, today is an allotment day. There's summer pruning to be done and I have tonnes of cardboard from work to put onto the beds that we're trying to clear. Other than that, just general tidying and bring home ANOTHER trug of weeds/branches etc from the huge pile. It is going down gradually though.
Right, I must toddle off downstairs and put a gammon joint in the sc for tea.
Have a good one all
