Door knocker thing clean and ready to go back up4 items listed on ebyFace shield bought, as it seems they are starting to car boot around here, so I may feel brave enough with that and a mask to go and wander round, with a possible view to doing car booting again to get rid of the items of interest, which have accumulated since the move.Hoovered the whole houseOH being a pain...................but that is another story...........Breast Cancer Now 100 miles October 2022 100 / 100miles

Hi all, happy holidays ASB.
I am probably going to go back to the office 2 days a week in another month so I am trying to get back into an earlier morning routine. Up at 6.30am, half hour exercise class, DW emptied, casserole in SC, showered dressed and ready by just after 8am which is OK, but to get up that early I need to be in bed in good time.
Have fluttered about with duster, polish and hoover. I am fed and now heading back to the laptop for a 7pm meeting. Feeling strangely calm and happy at the minute. I have told work that I am going to formally request that my contract terms are relaxed so I have more flexibility. I miss the office but working from home does make it easier to keep on top of the flying.

Good evening!
Drum roll please.....I have actually done some flying....off the list!!
I completed Round 1, despite getting side tracked by trying to get home insurance quotes! I HATE getting quotes!! And then comes the question about running a business.... they want me to value my 'stock' (equipment used in my business, as I don't sell anything). Its very difficult to value toys that I have collected over the years. Anyway, I spend ages putting all the details in, and then the site just 'hangs' there!!So frustrating!!
I did manage to go through 2 box files (1 left, plus a pile). I have a pile of shredding to do now, including all of my contracts of employment with the bank from 1984 to 2004!! Question - do I need to keep old mortgage statements? (up to 2005) And I really don't know why I have 20 years of payslips!! The ridiculous thing is, I put them back in the box!! Am I a hoarder?!
On a more positive note - I got all the washing in, WULTD (DH then DUAPA), wiped down the worksurfaces, wiped the sandwich toaster, emptied the fridge of some long forgotten nasties, cleaned the hob and washed the windows in the DR. We have now had dinner. I have WULTD (again) and put on the DW. I am now relaxing for the evening!
ASB I hope the weather has cheered up and you are having a lovely break

Hello all
Nothing much to report, especially flying-wise. Dinner cooked, dw now running, washing from this morning still trying to dry on the indoor line. Very busy again at work, so I'm feeling very much underpaid and under-appreciated. Tomorrow is a day off for me, and DH is going in to the office again, just for one day. It looks like his “new thing” might be 2 days per week in the office, and 3 days from home, for as long as his job carries on, that is.ASB - have a lovely break x
GI - you put my paperwork procrastinations to shame! I am thinking that a day of pretty much non stop rain today might mean no allotment tomorrow, but a paperwork assault instead...maybe!8 -
I forgot to say.... Not Park Run result is in. I came first for my local Parkrun!! Yay me!!!
(obviously we won't mention that I was the only one, so also came last!!!)9 -
In the end, due to the foul weather, I decided to leave the kitchen until tomorrow, because then I can put the mats outside while the floor dries - and use the string mop as opposed to the steam mop, seeing as I have the time to let the floor dry. I did go shopping, first to Mr L then Mr M (they're on the same road) as Lidl didn't have any cheap rice (again). Ended up buying 3 pack in Mr M and felt a bit guilty, but I do use a lot. I also noticed that the huge bags of pasta (5kg?) have shot up massively in price, though it wasn't their own brand.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily Dickinson

Not a great deal of flying today but a lot of admin.
Paid tax
Finished loading one holiday's worth of photos onto the shared album I'm trying to create with Mum (3 trips).
Caught up with emails although not all actions needed from them.
Had Zoom meeting with work friend; mainly social but included a lot of discussion about next term's work - she is admin for the Student Wellbeing dept, has been working from home since March but expects to go back on a rota in September. Apparently uni are giving each staff member and student a logo'd reusable mask and she has ordered some visors.
Windy and showers this morning so Mr N rang care home to move the planned visit to his mum to Wed as we didn't like the idea of her sitting outside in the cold/wet (nor us; especially as we'd planned to cycle there).
Booked Mr N's birthday present from last Aug - the family clubbed together to get him a flight in a Tiger Moth which of course he hasn't been able to take yet. Booked the flight but you also had to book entrance tickets to Duxford as they are limited due to the virus; no tickets available for that day. So he rang them to explain that he couldn't take his booked flight if he wasn't allowed in......answer machine said send an email so he's done that.
Finalised Mr T order for delivery tomorrow; booked another c&c for 10days time. Delivery costs have now all gone up to £4.50; for ages we've been getting them much less. C&C is £1.50 so that is liveable. A huge new Ald1 has gone up nearby which will be on my route to uni/not far from MIL's care home so we may brave that in a couple of weeks.
Made the decision that, unless anything noteworthy happens in the next week, we will go down to visit my Mum next Mon and hope that we can meet up with BIL while we are there. Still wary of seeing him unless it is outside as he works for Mr T albeit in the warehouse, but it means he is in contact with a lot of people. I guess shielding people are a few weeks behind everyone else; Mr N's friend and 'gym mate' is starting going to the gym which, to my mind, means he is perhaps slightly more of a risk to Mr N now - although he has visited us in the garden several times as he didn't go many other places. It's all very difficult. We're not really in any hurry to do anything much involving other people. I think our church is planning to have services in the church in September. I haven't dared ask the vicar when I can return to using his drums........
Filled bird feeders yet again.
Checked greenhouse. Picked spinach and rhubarb.
Can't remember what else I did; the elastic I ordered to finish the masks arrived; in fact they sent 2 by mistake (only charged for ) although I have to say that one lot looks used, or has been folded very small at some stage.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.9 -

And improved your time (well done) - hidden talents! She will have enjoyed church - I hope she wasn't too 'happy clappy' for you...she is used to worshipping in the kitchen with me - usually to Graham Kendrick songs. The problem with that is when you're washing up and you lift your arms in praise the water runs down your arms and soaks your sleeves!Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.9

I am not in as we have come away to the Llyn Peninsula for a much needed break. Brought all food etc with us, so a low cost week, just really needed a change of scene to help my mood as I've been so down.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.10
