Ok thanks for the messages of support it’s much appreciated, likewise for all you MFW keep plugging away! So that’s Septembers payment gone to the bank. That leaves 7 payments left to go to take me to May 2022. I’ve made some savings selling a vehicle and paying down credit card and loan debt. My only credit card debt is £197 which I will pay off in the next 2 months. That really just leaves basic outgoings which I’m very happy with. Had a nice morning with my OH yesterday. Beautiful sunny day today too!4

Savings virtually depleted.......car passed its MOT which is good news with no advisories (its a 2012 plate) so that’s good. I have a full tank of fuel so shouldn’t spend on commuting costs till next pay day (November 2015). Getting close to only 6 repayments remaining of £1033 per month........I will be glad when it’s gone as the next 6 months will be tight. Managed to get a further discount on my Council tax (works out at £111 per year).
I have some shares (worth about £2k) which I may sell if money is tight. Every £ seems to be a prisoner at the moment. Anyway remaining positive, it’s head down and get on with it.3 -

Quiet day today, back to work on Saturday. Being paid for unbooked holidays outstanding which I’m happy about, so should see an extra weeks wage in next months pay. Will use this additional money to top up my private pension. Close to making this months mortgage payment and then I will be down to 6 months final mortgage payments taking me to the beginning of May. I’m looking forward to booking a weeks holiday in Europe next summer with my nearest and dearest, all being well with the world. Reading lots of articles on the cost of living rises and interest rate rises. My advice keep overpaying while interest rates are low so that you are chipping away at the principal sum! I remember the days of 14% interest rates in the mid 90s when I bought my first home!

DP new to her car broke down yesterday (flat battery). She got it jump started but it looks like the original battery in there (10+ years old). It’s now at our local garage getting a new heavy duty one and all the systems recoded. Got the car back yesterday evening and all sorted. Sorting out some Halloween decorations which our 9 year old is involved in. The lovely estate where I live has already had houses decorated in readiness. Selling some shares next week so I have some capital should I need it, I don’t like having any emergency savings, so that should see savings at £2000. I will be in a much better position in 6 months time when I pay off the mortgage. Plan is to bolster the savings and live a little.5
