I have 4 complaints with the ombudsman. 2 are for non-response to my request for infomration about my loans (Paydayexpress and PaydayUk) and have been amalgimated and the other two are complains against wonga and poudstopocket/quickquid.

I got a quick response from Lending stream and Sunny and they refunded me very quickly (roughly £300 each).

I am getting really frustrated with my Wonga complain which is my largest. I put in a complaint to the ombudsman who found in my favour and they were due to respond on 4th April. The ombudsman has sent them a chase up but its nearly 2 weeks since they were meant to respond and 14 weeks since I made my complaint. I have read that some people are being told the ombudsman can take 12 weeks to resolve a complaint. I appreciate that the payday complanies are getting numerous complains but theres no way they would wait 14 weeks for me to respond to them! I really want a resolution so I know where I stand. Is anyoe else finding the process is taking longer than they hoped?

They are getting an unprecedented amount of complaints, mostly about unaffordable lending, they didn't see it coming, and, as a result, are now putting up obstacles at every opportunity, in an effort to stem the tide.

You will just have to be patient, and gain sollis from the fact that however long it takes them, you will get simple interest added @ 8% per anum, until the day the money is repaid.

I lodged my first batch of complaints with the PDLs on 20 October 2015. 6 months later 50% of my complaints are still unresolved. The FOS is doing their best, but they certainly weren't prepared for this volume of complaints either. Whilst I'm very glad I've gone through this process, I will be glad when it's over.

The £2k due from QQ / PTP will leave me with just 1 debt (parents!). Without the money I've clawed back from these scumbags debt free living would seem a world away, however as it happens the end is definitely in sight.

Improving my own financial position was the initial objective of these complaints, however I am now taking more pleasure in the operation disruption and financial impact the wave of complaints is having on the most disgusting organisations in the UK. They caused untold grief with their immoral targeting of vulnerable and desperate people. I hope they end up in the same desperate position we have all lived through.

  • Was going through my bank statements to send to FOS adjudicator, and noticed i had nearly £1000 in unplanned overdraft charges over the course of 2014. i had no idea of this at the time, my head was buried in the sand... has anyone over here any success in claiming unplanned overdraft charges? I went over to the reclaim bank charges forum, but they weren't as friendly the people of here and were all very negative, and defintately not as supportive so i didn't dare post :(

I contacted my bank -TSB and explained my situation and that I had entered into a DMP. I requested a refund of all the charges. They replied within a day and paid back all interest and charges from the date that I went into difficulties- £689 all together plus £35 for stress. They were my biggest creditor and even put it in a different account and didn't insist that I have to use the money to pay off some of my debt with them. I have found them to

How long between the charges and you emailing them? Reading through on the bank charge reclaim forum you needed to do it pretty much straight away or be able to show you are in financial hardship at the time of your complaint. These charges go back to late 2014, and whilst i was in financial hardship back then, i'm living as comfortably as possible, whilst paying nearly 20% of my earnings to my DMP. I will definitely email but not feeling confident.

Also had my response from FOS, when I spoke to him on the phone he sounded like he wanted to rule in my favour, and I had a lot of evidence, but he still found against me.
You took a loan of £250 with Satsuma Loans on 3 November 2014. The loan was for 26 weeks and the repayments were £16.15 a week.
You complained to Satsuma Loans as you felt it had lent to you irresponsibly and it wrote
to you on 18 February 2016 with its findings. It said based on the checks it did and having
verified your income and outgoings, the loan was given to you responsibly and felt it was
    affordable.
Before the loan was issued, you provided figures for your income and outgoings, which
Satsuma Loans was entitled to rely on. Having done so, it felt the loan was affordable to
you. There was no requirement in November 2014 for Satsuma Loans to do a credit check
    or ask for bank statements.

I’ve looked at the credit report you provided and at the time you applied for the loan with
Satsuma Loans you had a loan with Think Finance and eight settled loans with
Quickbridge (UK) Limited, the last of which was settled some six months earlier. None of
these show any adverse information, which if Satsuma Loans had had to look at your credit
file would have alerted it to any potential problems.
I understand you contacted Satsuma Loans through StepChange on 3 December 2014
and a monthly payment of £14.44 was agreed. Whilst I accept this wasn’t long after you
took the loan with Satsuma Loans, your credit report doesn’t show any problems with the
loans you had held previously. The business could only have relied on this information in
assessing the suitability of the loan and can’t be held accountable for a change in
circumstances after it agreed to lend to you.
I’m satisfied the checks Satsuma Loans carried out were proportionate to the amount of
money it lent you and were appropriate for the time the loan was taken.
    my conclusions
Based on the available evidence I’m not persuaded Satsuma Loans let to you
    irresponsibly.
I can’t therefore see that Satsuma Loans should refund any interest you’ve paid, plus any
charges and 8% interest. Nor can I see that it should remove all trace of the loan from your
    credit file.

Feeling a little disheartened, as this was the last loan i took out, and never made ANY repayments before entering DMP. My credit report shows that they never made any credit searches on me, only an inquiry to verify my identity, but apparently they don't have to, and can take my word for income/expenses. This was the one loan i wanted off my credit file, as it is showing as defaulting every month, whereas the others are showing as paying on time.

This week coming is a biggie- 8 weeks are up for WDA and Sunny. Out of them all I think Sunny is most likely to be the one that will succeed- I've got them by the short and curlies after what they did (set me up and confirmed a payment plan when I told them I was in difficulty then cleaned out my bank account at 7pm on Xmas Eve, took the contractual payment which they had agreed not to take and then wanted payment of the payment plan as well- er what?!) I had some very damning evidence as well which I forwarded to them so am hoping for something for distress too!! Following week is 8 weeks for PDUK and Express, Express is the biggest and I think I've got a good case there too- my limit was £500 on a £1000 wage and at one point my wage had gone down to £650 when I was on the sick- go figure :D
Could do with some good news I think....
