Brill!!!!!!!!!!! Ginger.Ice, Uncle Buck paid me straight away, I sent them a complaint with my credit report, they did not spot a default on my file. However they still claimed that they didnothing wrong and paid as a gesture of good will. I only had 2 recent loans with them, £400 quid was a great result.:j:D

Well for some reason UB rejected my initial complaint. I sent them my credit file in response and they refused to even look at it. Hence why it is now with the FOS. Fingers crossed for a good outcome. So far every one of my refunds has been for more than I expected. I guess that just shows how oblivious I was of the true cost of these evil loans.

Hard one to answer mrsbowwow, depends on the complaint, could take longer than 8 weeks as the PDL are snowed under with complaints. Just be patient and E-Mail them every week so they know you have not given up.

    Wage day advance finally crumbled!!!!

They offered full redress for all but the first 2 loans. I had 8 loans with them and the redress is over £900.

This now sets the bar. According to my FOS adjudicator, if they hadn't done a full credit search I may not have had much grounds for complaint, as they would not have know my financial position. (personally I think this is a huge cop out as it does nothing to independently verify that the loans are affordable, but that is their stance and it is what WDA will always hide behind).

But the fact is that they did do a full credit search prior to my third loan and therefore they should have known my situation. This means they either chose to ignore it or they failed to check it properly. Either way, their process failed and allowed someone in truly dire financial difficulty to access unaffordable loans.

Next on the list is Uncle Buck, who I have proof checked my credit file before each loan... so that should be clear and simple.

Ginger.ice i'm following your complaint with interest as I have an outstanding complaint in with WDA. Since March 2009 I have had 37 loans with them but a ridiculous amount of roll over. In total I've paid over £7k in interest. In 2010 I ended up rolling over one loan 10 times, then when the rollover was refused on month 11 I ended up in a payment plan for 6 months. As soon as the plan was finished, I could borrow the whole amount again. Funnily enough they did put a stop to lending for around 8 months, but only because I changed jobs and my pay date changed. I'd be more than happy of a refund of interest from the date of my payment plan finishing and now. Total interest seems to be around £5k. Heck i'd even take the interest between my 10 rollovers and the enforced gap in 2014 which was £2.2k
Wage Day Advance, Quick Quid, Pounds to Pocket and Pounds Till Payday....i'm after you
  • Hi joncow75, have you checked your credit file to see if WDA did any credit searches?

Two letters from Payday Express and PDUK, demanding two cheques, for £10 each, a copy of my driving licence and a utility bill! I have sent them a slightly snarky email saying I have none of these things and why I don't have them and repeating my request under section 77b of the CCA 1974 and asking them why they think they don't have to comply with it :D

I guess they can choose not to comply with it (the 'offense' rules were scrapped a few years ago) but their debt remains unenforceable for as long as they choose not to comply and after 6 years of no acknowledgement by you that is irreversible.

The £10 fee would be for a SAR, which you are not making.
