  • Hello

I am looking for a bit of advice

Has anyone ever complained to Avant credit and been successfull?

I am currently having a nightmare with them

I have a payment plan set up and i have been for a while, however the payment just isnt going down. I currently pay £50 a month and have today logged onto my online account to find that only £113 has been taken of the principle, therefore the amount i have paid has only come of the interest.

Anyway i contacted them to ask them to amend my plan to £45 a month, due to this being now what i could afford
i have had a reply from someone and i am really upset at the reply

    It states the following

'you are only hurting yourself failing plans' ( really mad at this comment)

if you knew that you would not be able to complete this plan, you should have agreed to something that you could be successful with

Can see why he has put the comment above but i thought i was being decent contacting them trying to come up with a solution, plus it isnt like the amount is a lot different? I havent actually failed the plan, i have just asked them to amend the amount slightly

Anyway after noticing that none of the principal has been paid hardly after me stating i had mental health problems and was in financial trouble they are still not helping

Do i have a leg to stand on if i complain or should i just leave it and continue to pay the amount agreed? Advice would be appreciated , many thanks
  • The money from Quickquid is now in my account. I called QQ earlier to see when I should expect it and was told rather aggressively that no one there could answer any questions and I had to go through my adjudicator as the complaint had now been escalated. However, by the time I got back to my desk I had an email from them saying it had been processed and the money was sent the same day. If anyone is waiting on a refund I suggest giving them a call.

I think complain. You have nothing to lose and there is a template letter on https://debtcamel.co.uk/
  • Been reading this thread all week long and decided to send off emails to my past creditors earlier this week. Have many people had success with Lending Stream? they responded not with my total borrowed or interest paid but just my current active loans and told me I have borrowed 20 times from them in the past 2 years :wall::wall::wall: if that isnt irresponsible then I dont know what is and so with the letter template from debt camel I have told them so.

If they refuse to give a statement of accounts (They don't have to by the usual CCA statement requests) you have 2 options.

1: Complain about those 20 loans anyway, and they'll have to look into it, whether they give you a statement or not.

2: Send a SAR Request. This costs £10 and under data protection laws means that they must produce all data they have on you from their files, including all loans etc.

As 2 will lead to 1, I'd not worry and just send a complaint stating that the entirety of the 20 loans was part of a debt cycle that they should never have started.

Small success story guys I suppose.

As i mentioned above I emailed my past/current lenders just last Wednesday and so far only Lending Stream have got back to me. Today 247Moneybox have just done the same, a creditor who I currently have a outstanding balance with worth £670 and to resolve my complaint they have offered to write of my balance. Now it probably would be worth more money to me waiting out the complaint procedure but I have jumped on this and accepted it due to the 2 day turn around and amount which I must say I'm delighted with to have off my back :j:j

    Hi all

Some advice needed please! I can't believe I've never seen this thread before, payday loans have ruined my life.

I'm definitely pursuing Wonga as i have calculated at least £5k in interest and charges over the last 6 years. They finally stopped lending to me about 9 months ago.

However I want to ask about current loans with other lenders. I havent defaulted yet, but I'm struggling. Should I contact them now to try and get the loan reduced and interest repaid, or go down the claim route after I've finally closed each one at a time? I don't want to go down DMP route at the moment, would rather try and settle directly with them.

Has anyone had any success with 118? Currently halfway through a ridiculous interest loan of 24 months

If they do agree they are at fault, do they also wipe it from your credit report?

    Thanks

  • I think I posted here before but it was a while back and I can't find my original post. I haven't been on these forums for a while.
I sent an information request back in March and had a reply from them in May. They offered me a refund on a seemingly random assortment of 6 out of 10 loans. They offered me £680 which is the interest I paid initially. They then added a table stating I was also due £251 as the 8% interest but took off 20% (£50) as tax, but the offer still remained at £680.
Are you supposed to pay tax on these refunds?

I have escalated this to the Ombudsman because less than 2 weeks after this I had another email off Wonga saying that because I hadn't responded they were considering my case closed. I have anxiety and needed time to consider the offer before accepting. I have stated this in my case as it took me until now to escalate the situation due to anxiety brought on by the situation. Do you think the Ombudsman will take my mental health into account?

If you receive compensatory tax they will deduct the 20% however if you are a non taxpayer you can claim this back by contacting HMRC
