Two weeks in and have £250 back in my account which I settled directly with MyJar and Mr Lender which is great. Still awaiting the big ones, had a satement of account through from QuickQuid, £2700 in interest!! unbelievable. Hoping to claim this back! Nothing from Wonga yet, again this will be easily £3K-£4K.

    Hello,

After stumblimg across this thread i am taking action and on Thursday i have sent emails to my previous payday lenders.

No answer from Wonga(my biggest should be £1000+ well hopefully) , quick quid or payday uk.

Sunny have emailed me saying my account statements are online but i cant find anything from before february this year so not sure whether to email them explaining this or if they are just being difficult and i should go straight for the complaint??

I am hoping to get my credit rating better so at one point i can actually think about buying a house or actually having some saving instead of debt and constantly being dragged down by these loans with Wonga being the main cause i have finally taken my head out of the sand and aim to change my life for the better!! Especially when i actually looked at my credit report 75 wonga loans in just over 5 years and feel awful about it!!

I will read on in hope it might be long but it has to be better than the last 5 years praying for a lottery win to help me get by!!

QQ finally got back to me, through the Adjudicator, with an offer (7 months after my initial complaint) Interest repaid and default removed for the last loan (out of 6). Now if this had been the offer at any point in the last 7 months I would have begrudgingly taken it due to being the process of applying for a mortgage and wanting nothing more than the default to be gone. However, as I have already applied for and been accepted for a mortgage this very week I will now take great pleasure in sitting this one out and waiting for the full verdict from the adjudicator.

Mortgage approval with a default.... please tell me more. Broker used, mortgage company. Hopefully looking to get a mortgage sooner rather than later, my defaults are 4.5 years old. Thanks in advance

    Broker was L&C
    Lender will be West Bromwich
1 fully satisfied default from January 2013
    84% LTV

I've been dreading applying but it really wasn't that bad. They asked for loads of documents after it went to the underwriters but they were more concerned with my wife's employment status (she's spent the last 15 months on maternity) and the source of the deposit (wife's inheritance)

Just be completely honest from the outset with the broker and I'm sure they will be able to find you something.

    Hello everyone,

Great thread and great to see some results. Well Done to everyone who has got results so far and to those still battling on, keep going!

I have today started the process of doing the same, but seems very sticky for me quite a few reasons.

I have borrowed money from both Wonga and Lending Stream, but both are in around or over the six year mark, so I expect it to be a long drawn out battle regarding those loans. I also know that these loans that I have had aren't as many as some people and I think I have had over 3 with Wonga, and around 2 or 3 with Lending Stream.

In addition to this, my bank statements online don't go as far back as I would want, so I have also requested via phone to get statements from before 2010.

I ask a question, if someone would know, what is the possibility of getting a refund from Lending Stream if I haven't had 3+ loans and what it maybe like with Wonga? I am still being chased by debt collection agencies through Lending Stream too.

I'd also like to know, if anyone is happy to tell, what situation people are currently in? If perhaps they are making it easier for people in certain situations, then perhaps we can all get a better understanding of it all. Are they giving quicker responses to the unemployed, low paid or disabled? Etc.

I've also used templates I've found, but seems I probably have used the wrong ones. But I assume Wonga and Lending Stream will understand the complaint?

Look foward to more success stories in the future and any replies to my query will be greatly appreciated. Good luck to everyone!

Hello all, after some advice please, put a complaint in with moneyboat, 1 closed loan and 1 ongoing, they've obviously not upheld the complaint but have said they will take off all my interest on current loan so will only repay what I borrowed, do I take that offer or run or because they've offered that makes me think maybe the agree they were in the wrong but don't want me to go to FOS to take the complaint further???? What are your thoughts, take the offer or go FOS, they are claiming the loan was affordable based on my income but I disagree
  • Hi,

Would you mind sharing exactly what you put in your email to them? I am wanting to do the same but do not know where to start. Your email clearly worked so I would be very grateful if you could detail the contents.

    Thanks in advance.

I literally used the example on debt camel website, they give you an example of what to include and the steps to follow when contacting them, just unsure whether I should pursue it as I think they've shown some liability with their offer!

Had my statement of account through from Wonga today. Absolutely horrific reading. I had a loan with them every month for 3 years straight!

Total charges and interest is £7720! unbelievable. Even took one loan and repaid £1200 interest alone! Its quite shameful seeing it all laid out.
