I sent my first lot of letters after copying a template letter from debt camel on the 21/06/2017 and have received my first refund today from Mr Lender in my bank. Very impressed with the speed of it all. Lending stream have also already made an offer to refund the interest wish I have accepted.
Bit more of a battle with Payday Express but they have agreed to look into my loans after initially stating the below. I persevered and now they have passed on my complaint to their complaints department. Well worth the perseverance and I have nearly £1000 in refunds after just a couple of weeks. I have no outstanding loans and haven't for 3 years, stumbled across the refund process and decided to go for it. Google debt camel and payday loan refunds

Well worth the homework! Well done. Has anyone had any luck with Safety net credit?
  • Hello MSEers,

Having been away from this forum for a year after my claims were settled, I was just checking my credit report and noticed that my loans from Wonga that they said would be removed are still on there!
Have emailed them asking for them to once again be removed, but just wanted to warn people to double check they have been removed as promised.
All other pay day loans have been removed, but not the wonga ones.

    Quick update -

I have heard from Cheque Centre and Payday Express, both have rejected my claims due to the loans being older than six years old (my first loan was 2010) so I have referred both of these to FOS. Anybody else experience this?

I have a loan from 118 had anybody tried to claim anything back from these. My monthly payments have become unaffordable and they have decreased my monthly payment on a payment plan but my arrears keep increasing because of this.

    hi all... keep going people.

I am now in the waiting game hence why i have not posted. My loans were six years plus ago and seem to be at a standstill as they decide how to progress with these. I thought some had been sorted?

The adjudicator did email to say while i was waiting to gather the bank statements etc. I did politely ask until i know if my case if being progressed was there any sense in this as it would just be a time wasting exercise.

Not sure how others got on in this scenario.

    Hi,

Unfortunately the Limitations act plays both ways, if your loans were older than 6 years, its more than likely they will claim they are now statute barred and are under no obligation to investigate further..

    Hello

I have had many payday loans within the last 6 years and was well and truly stuck in a rut. Does anybody have any idea how i can find a full list of what i borrowed and when, ie, would this be on my credit file?

Sorry if this sounds like a stupid question.

    Not a stupid question.

Yes, you'll have them in your Credit Files. There are 3 CRAs so check all 3

    ClearScore (Free, For Equifax)
    Noddle (Free, For CallCredit)
The MSE Credit Club (Free, For Experian).

If you have access to online banking you should be able to produce bank statements for this period too, and you can request them from your bank.

In debt and looking for help? Look here for the MSE Debt Help Guide.
Also, If you need any free and impartial debt advice, the National Debtline, Stepchange, and the CAB can help.

Some will be on your credit files, usually listed under the parent company so you may have to use google to find out what is what.

Not all payday loans report, so there may be some gaps. The general rule is: if they want payment they'll write.
