  • Just wanted to report that I received £1800 from the money shop. Put in my complaint 6 months ago, did it myself as I knew how busy the FOS was with all these complaints.

  • Adjudicator confirmed that he was upholding my complaint against Peachy for 8 out of the 12 loans. By my calculations it'd be worth about £400 plus the removal of a default from my credit file.

He said he was not able to consider the threatening wording of their final response (they said they might report me to the police for application fraud if I pursued my complaint), as the complaint was only about irresponsible lending. He said if I want to raise a separate complaint with peachy for the distress caused then I was within my rights to do so. So I will be raising a new complaint as soon as the current complaint is resolved. Peachy will undoubtedly knock it back, I will escalate to the FOS, and they will incur another £550 fee.

The only thing these scumbags understand is profit. I'm delighted that the action I've taken has so far cost the industry over £6k in FOS fees plus the £5k+ I've received in refunds and compensation.

    Keep it going people.

    So an update (of sorts!)....

My complaint against Wonga has been passed from my adjudicator to the ombudsman (got to say she's a fast worker!!!). My adjudicator had sent me the email exchanges sent between her and some Wonga and I can see that she was dealing with an utter idiot who basically wouldn't/couldn't accept that they lent irresponsibly and THEY requested that she send the complaint to the ombudsman  this was despite her pointing out that I borrowed month in, month out from 2010-2013 with a ccj being awarded against me in 2011 which was in the middle of the cycle. According to Wonga that doesn't prove that I was relient on the loans but was actually using the loans for their intended purpose!!! They also pointed out that I must have got in a better financial position as I stopped using them in Jan 2013....you know, when I had to take out a debt relief order because I was sinking :rotfl:

So the upshot is that she has upheld some of my complaint, not sure how much because it wasn't clear from the exchange and I haven't had a phone call or email outlining what her actual decision was, but they have disagreed on every point my adjudicator made and told her to forward it to the ombudsman.

Just out of interest, do I need to request to be compensated for the time delaying tactics and emotional distress (!) of ending up, essentially, bankrupt? Or is that something my adjudicator will have factored in already?
  • Sacha,

In my experience the FOS might add additional on for distress however in my experience it is never very much. It can't help to ask though. If you send your thoughts to the adjudicator, they will make sure it gets to the ombudsman.

In my case the Adjudicator upheld my complaint against QQ and P2P and requested they pay an additional £300 compensation for basically cleaning out my bank account one month without permission. They accepted the irresponsible lending refund but argued the compensation. In the end I settled without the additional £300 because the refund was over £2k and I was happy enough.
  • Quick update from me.

Now have an adjudicator for two claims and the same person in both cases.

Will let you know any further updates as they happen.

Quick query. I have a case (my first) with an adjudicator. They have my bank statements, credit report and several emails went back and forth asking me to clarify certain things. This was yesterday morning and suddenly it has stopped. I'm assuming they are looking into it. Anyone any idea when I will hear anything? Will it be by email? I'm a bit concerned as when I was in this mess I had a partner and we used to transfer money back and forth between our accounts to allow each other to pay off and reborrow. However I'm not in touch with this person anymore, so from their side they could oook at it as income. I have explained the situation. I'm not great st waiting!
  • First small success for me today.

Ferratum have made a gesture of goodwill which I am prepared to accept.
  • Two successes in one day now!!!!!

Mr Lender have offered me a settlement of 50% of the interest paid which I have accepted based upon the fact I only had one loan with them and TBH I expected the sum total of hee haw from them or the FOS if it went that far.

To me though it does show that complaining to PDL companies even if you only had one loan is still worth the little bit of endeavor it takes.

To be fair to the above lender as well I only complained to them yesterday so a 24 hour turn around was very impressive.

    Hi all

    Update from me.

Wonga: No response from emails to them, need chance to ring them.

PDUK: Tried to make me send them a £1 postal order and waste loads of time, sent them a further email template and they agreed to send for free. So just waiting for that to land!

WDA: After a few reminders to send me SOA they finally have today, balance is half what i thought it was. Going to do complaint to them tomorrow.

SafetyNet: Contacted me to say they are extending there 4 week timeline to 8 weeks in accordance with guidelines, so they can investigate further.

QuickQuid: 4 weeks in to 8 week guideline, just a wait!

Peachy and Mr Lender updated my balances which i agreed with them.

All good, i also had some great news Saturday. Barclays wrote to me saying i had PPI on my overdraft which i opened around 10 years ago :) Basically saying i need to make a complaint to get some money.... OK no problemo!!! Hopefully get a nice little sum from them !!

Does anyone have a contact address for Cash Genie, i know they have gone bust but i read somewhere you could contact a certain address to forward complaints to, is that correct?
