Clearly never been to France then where on a single carriage national speed limit single carriageway A grade road it is extremely common for them to drop the speed limit within half a km of every entrance from a side road and any bend tighter than a few degrees.gilbutre said:Oh come on. Speed limits in the UK are probably from the most ridiculous in the world. 40mph limit on a road with two lanes in each sense separated by a wide grass area in the middle is an authentic joke, you see that kind of stuff everywhere.0 -
"Reversing a vehicle onto a public highway..." "there is no such offence"...
Good luck with that on the M25.Now a gainfully employed bassist again - WooHoo!0 -
You are correct. reversing onto the highway is not an offence. I googled it.all though it is frowned upon and cerianly the highway code reccomends against it. it was my friend who was knocked over told me they were going to prosecute and that was one of the offences. fact remains the accident I described was clearly her fault.Car_54 said:
There is no such offence.clive0510 said:

a friend of mine was knocked over by a car reversing out of there drive. he was walking along the pavement. the woman driving was reversing using her door mirrors. so can see either side but cant see directly behind. my pal broke his themur. not good when you are 80 yrs of age. driver wasnt speeding though.Highland76 said:
thanks, I didn't know that.clive0510 said:
no. but then you dont have to be speeding to do that.Highland76 said:
Would you still be calling yourself a "naughty boy" had your speeding injured or killed someone?clive0510 said:I was done for speeding in june. I been done before but never took the course because i didnt fancy travelling to god knows where, spend 4 or 5 hours there and pay £90.00.
this time I am able to take the course on line in the comfort of my own home. so thats what I'm doing. and all just for someone to tell me I been a naughty boy, dont do it again.
Good whatabouttery though.0 -
How many house driveways are directly adjacent to a motorway in the UK?Hermione_Granger said:0 -
But I didn't refer to driveways. I was simply responding to this:Mercdriver said:
