This thread has been hijacked. It's high time it got back on track, which was the plight of the OP being massively overcharged by a reseller, which breaches Ofgem regulations.1

Sussed how to ‘ignore’ someone, hopefully I won’t see any more of what seems to me like pitiful trolling.Gerry1 said:This thread has been hijacked. He can't shop around or use a comparison site because he has no control over who supplies his leccy, it's down to the LL

Ofgem is quite clear about charges for reselling energy:From 1 January 2003 the maximum price at which gas or electricity may be resold is the same price as that paid by the person who is reselling it ("the reseller"), including any standing charges.
65p per kWh is a ridiculous charge.
I think the suggestion to find a cheaper supplier was aimed at Lucas91, who claims they're paying 32.5p per kWh.
However they suddenly got a bit uppity, despite following Gerry1's advice and finding a tariff elsewhere that charges just over a third of that per kWh.
I'm not bothered; and Gerry1 shouldn't be either. We pay less for our energy because others (not OP) choose to pay more.1 -
Just a quick update the landlord has now changed it to 35p per kWh but I have no standing charge.
This is better than the 65p i Iwas originally charged but still don't think it's correct.0 -

Agreed, still unlikely to be correct, especially as your share of the daily standing charge is likely to be well below 10p a day...Liam14884 said:Just a quick update the landlord has now changed it to 35p per kWh but I have no standing charge.

This is better than the 65p i Iwas originally charged but still don't think it's correct. So you have failed to find out exactly how much this robbing landlord actually pays for each kWh of electricity, ask to see a bill for proof. You are very likely still paying far too much!0 -
Does any supplier actually charge 35p/kWh?0
