Anyone know where the best Bitcoin exchange rates can be had or know of a comparison site similar to the MSE travel money site?
Quite a few I've checked require you to log in and have Bitcoin to sell before they tell you the rate. Best I've found so far is LocalBitcoins.

    EDIT (23/7/2020):

Summary of thread - Don’t bother reading, hardly anybody is on topic.

Kudos to “pioruns” who suggested Binance Jersey and “Bowlhead99” who mentioned Bitstamp.

I’ve done my own research and the results are tabulated below in order of best overall rate for exchanging about a grands worth of BTC and withdrawing the GBP. Note that I could be wrong as on some sites it’s not easy to be sure what the actual sell rate is. These rates were obtained within seconds of each other. Binance Jersey looks like the best bet - thanks again pioruns.

Yay! I am glad my platform has turned out to be cheapest and you like it. Looks like there is only two post "on-topic" in this thread - yours and mine! :D I kinda knew the results as I did very similar comparison many months ago. Nothing has changed and Binance JE is still on top. Enjoy!
I know nothing about Bitcoin and have no interest or views either way, but I could never put any money whatsoever, into something called 'Bittylicious'!!!
No one is asking you to and no one cares. If you are not interested in Bitcoin, what you are doing in this thread?
Gosh, a little aggressive. It was a bit of light hearted humour about the name bittylicious. I apologise, I was trying to inject a little levity.

Is it always this toxic here?

    My apologies then.
Yes, Bitcoin enthusiasts (and not only that) are under constant attack. I've been under attack myself, had personal stalker here on forums not long ago, sadly I had to report him to forum admins, also I put him on ignore so can't tell if he's still around.

I think it is fair to say that bitcoin is very marmite :  )
Think first of your goal, then make it happen!
  • I'm finding virtual currencies a good avenue to investment, and I believe the stories that with quantitative easing the $, £ and Euro will be slipping in value, and some UK based shares will be troubled by Brexit. I use Coinbase pro and I have been investing for 3 weeks. My overall profits have varied between 10% and 19%, and I could take all my money out today (currently a dip in VC prices) and leave with 11% profit. Actually today is a good day to buy in as Bitcoin and Ethereum have dropped 4% after recent highs. I also hold about 10 minor currencies. If gold related shares drop I'll but some of them. I'm still 65% invested in shares and found Invesco Blockchain very good - 11% up after 2 months. BTW I find slagging each other off tedious. When I want humour I turn on Live at the Apollo. If I want to gamble I play poker for small stakes.  I fully acknowledge that all investment strrategies and avenues carry risk. Personally I believe the prediction (Keiser Report on RT) that Bitcoin will be in the 100,000s within 5 years.
  • It seems that if you want to gamble, then crypto's are as good as anything. As they are so volatile and as your time span is 3 weeks, one can hardly call it investing.
