It's only a small amount. I like a bit of everything in my portfolio. 1.5% is in Gold.1

Because sometimes the exchange owners do a runner with the money, or the "owner" dies (possibly) having failed to tell anyone how to access the reserves, or whatever.

Not a troll, just someone who understands that Bitcoin, like gold, art, wine and tulips is not An investment at all.0 -

Gold and bitcoin are not investments so you cannot consider than as part of an investment portfolio, rather they are bets.1 -
Bitcoin and gold same, same, now I've heard it all. Dignitas I'd like to make an appointment.0

I did have a tiny value of bitcoin as change from a transaction I did about 4 years ago.
I logged into my blockchain account and was surprised by the rise.
I have been looking at putting a bit of spare change into one of the crypto currencies and am surprised by the resistance on here for it being a sensible investment.0 -
RolandFlagg said:0.5% of my portfolio is in Bitcoin. Yes it's highly speculative, but it's money I can afford to lose, and it has huge possible long term upside. Cathie Wood from Ark has a small amount in Bitcoin, so that is good enough for me.
Anyway, I hold it at Blockchain.com. When you log in, they email you a link to click, then also text you a code, so it's pretty secure. They also pay 4.5% on balances, which can be withdrawn at any time. Not for everyone I know, but if you want to hold a small amount of Bitcoin then that site is my preferred option.3 -

I'd rather gamble, at least that's regulated properly and you know the odds.1
