Whilst you may perceive it as unfair (and I am not getting into that debate) it is not illegal. There is also nothing which may be considered discrimination.1

Unfortunately, it doesn’t matter how you see it. It doesn’t matter how your husbands union rep (who said it was cheeky) sees it, it also doesn’t matter how your husband and his colleagues (who are apparently up in arms) see it either. It matters how the company sees it and whether they feel it was necessary to protect jobs (it is called the corona virus job retention scheme for a reason). You have no idea why the company has done what it has and why would you. There is nothing you can do, so accept it and move on.HollyTrees said:
