From reading what others are saying, it appears they are quick with new custmers than existing ones.

    the service levels seem positiove

  • It maybe a bit drastic but I remortgaged after my 2 year fixed was up with Platform. Such a poor mortgage provider, they're stuck in the 60s. Everything takes 3 x longer than it should. No online banking, calls for everything with a minimum of 5 business days for any thing. My advice, if you can afford it, go with a bit more of a mainstream provider.

  • Hi,

Our broker has just submitted an application to platform today. We sent in all the relevant documents, and our broker told us he is just awaiting their assessment? Can anyone tell me what this means? Also, anyone have any timelines for this year?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
We have been waiting for 4 weeks so far and have been told we will not be updated for another two weeks. -  First time buyers going through broker.
Genuinely wish we had applied elsewhere as platform are being unbearably slow.
Our application is very uncomplicated BTW and holdup being blamed on high number of mortgage applications.

We have been told that our case is due to be assessed by close of business 8/08..which is tomorrow. We had our valuation on the 4th. Our broker is on holiday till tomorrow so we haven't had much update. The one who told us our case is due to be assessed tomorrow was his colleague.
I'm hoping we hear something tomorrow but I don't think we will. I'm hating the wait. Its awful. We are buying a new build and so far it's been fairly straight forward apart from the mortgage offer part.
I'm dreading them asking for more documents. Just want it over with.
  • And, we are also a straight forward case. We got told the wait for 12 days originally....which would take us to tomorrow. If you go on their service levels website, they're down to 7 working days!! Surly your case should be well on the way now. Our developer wants to exchange contracts by the 25th!!

It sounds like yours is progressing. I saw that it is down to 7 days on the site so no idea why we have been waiting so long - we applied nearly.3 weeks before you and they did the valuation after a couple of days. A few weeks later that asked us to clarify something on a bank statement and then...nothing, just lots of promises of things being done by certain times then extended. We are getting worried about losing the house now.
Fingers crossed you get some news tomorrow. Please let us know if you do as it will offer us some hope!

Have you had an offer through?
So, we got told our case is approved subject to valuation.  We had the valuation on the 4/08. We was told on the 9/08 about our case and that our valuation has been sent to be assessed.  We are still waiting!!  Contacted broker on Monday was told they are looking at documents from 31/7. So, hoping they get to ours by end of this week. Our developer wanted to exchange Contracts 25/8 so it's cutting it very fine. Fed up of the waiting.
