@Ned when did you put the application in for this new purchase? My first purchase back in September fell through due to platform downvalueing the property by £20,000 after valuation and they took 4 weeks to book a valuation. That's why this time round I would love for the valuation to be done as soon as for piece of mind. Being too positive and hopeful is definitely what kills you!0

@GJOphthal I'm still waiting to hear from them about the valuation for this new purchase. Yes it's really strange and makes you wonder how they can treat cases so so differently, surely there has to be protocol to follow. If the valuation is done first and their happy to lend on that property then surely it should go for underwriting after. Our dates are so close yet dealt with so differently.1

The solicitors require the valuation report from Platform and also confirmation they are happy with the gifted deposit, which you would have thought would have been part of the mortgage offer pack?!0 -

Hi guys!
So we had our application sent off 11th Dec.It is saying they will take up to 7 days to do the initial review. Now i am a first time buyer so this is all new to me! We have no chain either end so they have told us could be 6/8 weeks until we move in all being well! Looking at these comments looks like just the mortgage offer will take that long! Does anyone think we will get our valuation in before Christmas? We haven't heard anything re valuation or initial review yet. My MA says she doesn't want to ring as they have told her not to?! Should i just take it upon myself and ring them?! Or should i give them the 7 days then ring? As i said im new to all of this, never done it before!
