So.....in conclusion, how does one actually qualify for Double glazing/new doors??

    With other stuff 1st??
I think you've got to currently have single glazing in order to qualify for double glazing.

  • Is GSHP an option to use if you dont have gas boiler? We only have electricty for heating water and storage heaters. We have gas line ready though

The way the article says you do: Don't already have double glazing (UPVC doors from before 2002 may be covered but I'm not sure) and do something from the first list e.g. insulation or low carbon heating.

If you already have double glazing you are probably out of luck. We have insulation and double glazing, probably the best we can hope for is that we can get a discount on adding flat roof insulation to the relevant part of the house and get a discount on replacing the UPVC doors from pre-2002 if they eligible.

Having a signature removed for mentioning the removal of a previous signature. Blackwhite bellyfeel double plus good...

    Hello
Does anyone know typically how much this Low carbon heating, such as air-source or ground-source heat pumps costs to install? I am assuming BIG money?
    thanks

Lots of info on the Green and Ethical forum. If I remember correctly from discussions years ago on there, neither was considered very practical or economical, and both were noisy.

  • My house was built in the 1950's and has never had central heating. Do you think I would get help to install it, I only claim child benefit?

What can i do in an apartment?  We have double glazed units inside wooden sash windows from 1980. Planning permission for uPVC windows have only just started to be granted on our building because of listed status. What can we as residents do to jump on these grants?  Will upgrades to old wonky boilers be enough? Can an upgrade to a wonky boiler work ???
