It won't cover double glazing replacement because that's a standard building maintenance issue.

Was hoping the new scheme would help me replace my back boiler, but doesn't look it covers old boilers at all.

Might see if I can get cavity wall insulation and a modern front door. But not sure there will be any companies installing cavity wall insulation in the south west
Changing the world, one sarcastic comment at a time.

I have plasterboard walls with wood behind and then the bricks to the outside. Are these cavity walls?

PS where can I get the details to assess if I'm eligible for this and if so, what is covered?

Thanks MF. So, would my 2002/2003 count as a 'new build'?

Sounds like you have a timber-framed build, so no, you should not be considering cavity wall insulation.

Thanks MWT. Would the Cellotex foam type insulation be covered for my house if it's eligible for this scheme?

You need professional advice for this sort of thing, but in general, you need to leave whatever cavity there is as it is as ventilation is important for timber-frame construction. That means there isn't as much you can do to add insulation if it wasn't properly built in during construction.

The walls are timber framed similar to those on the picture below (pics are not my house). The only problem is right now there's very very little insulation between the inside and outside walls. I drilled a whole in them when installing speakers and we were shocked to see how little insulation their was in the sitting room wall. Mine and my kids bedrooms in winter are atrociously cold, barely reaching 20 degrees even with the thermostat set to 26  :'(

I'd suggest you read the explanations in the link below, it is 5 years old now so doesn't cover the new scheme but it will help explain the problems you face when trying to retrofit insulation to a timber framed building...
