I’ve applied, got my reference number but no confirmation email even though the website states “ We have sent you a confirmation email.”.

    Anybody else had the same?
Yes, the same for me, no confirmation email.  :s
I also have not received a confirmation email.  I emailed the customer.green-homes-grant@beis.gov.uk email address (from on the application page) this morning with my reference number to try to confirm receipt of application, but the email kept bouncing back as undeliverable.  My third email attempt did not bounce back, but have not yet received a reply.
I did exactly the same as you and the same thing happened, fingers crossed we get a response!
  • I wanted to have my poorly insulated flat roof replaced but although the Green Homes Grant Scheme covers insulation, the additional requirements document says it doesn't cover changes not linked to energy such as re-roofing?  Am I understanding right that the scheme basically only covers the cost of a couple of Kingspan insulation boards but wouldn't cover the rest of the higher costs of replacing the felt?

  • I had fairly low hopes for this scheme given past Green Deal style messes, but clearly no one has learned any lessons.  The government site has clearly not been tested very well as, like others here, I receive results for solid floor insulation when I tick suspended floor.  In all of Devon there are only 3 installers - 2 of them only for caravan park homes.  The other is an hour's drive away.  How on earth can I get 3 quotes as advised by the government with only 1 installer in the county?  I can't imagine that any quotes will be competitive if these installers a) have the monopoly on work b) have large travel distances involved c) will be trying to make as much money as possible in a short 6 month period.

The whole process of being a government 'approved contractor' is so severely hampered by red tape and unrealistic requirements that only the biggest companies who can spend thousands per year buying meaningless accreditations and have the staff to deal with the extra admin can benefit from any government schemes.  Due to this they are very rarely good value for money.

I remember a few years ago my own company carried out a job for a customer under the government's Warm Front scheme.  The job took us 3 hours, and it took a further 3 hours of admin and 4 months before we got paid.  This is why so many smaller companies wouldn't register as a government installer, even if they had the ability to.

I've given up on this  :( No doubt there will be a select few who do benefit and will be used to give positive publicity for the government. However the scheme is so restrictive that the vast majority will find it almost impossible to access anything at all. The ways it has been set up I wouldn't even be able to obtain 3 quotes by the end of March, let alone getting the work completed  :/  I imagine Rishi will be delighted at how little this scheme is actually going to cost.

I had high hopes for this back in August. Only two installers were within a 60 mile radius of me, but I was not deterred and submitted multiple quote requests up to a 100 mile radius. So far I have had only one response with a quote more than double the suggested price for the work, completely cancelling out any benefit from the grant.

The website remains as full of bugs as it was when launched. Despite stating I have cavity walls with no insulation it fails to suggest cavity wall insulation. Yet it consistently suggests a condensing gas boiler even though I have no gas! No secondary measures are suggested at all.
  • I am looking to have my uninsulated flat roof replaced or insulated. There are no installers correctly listed anywhere vaguely close registered. The few that are either appear to be heating engineers and don't respond or have replied they are no longer registered with this scheme. Very disappointed, there are loads of local companies who could do this work, why do they need to be trust Mark registered?

Hi, it says they recommend getting 3 quotes to get the best quote. But it doesnt say you have to get 3? It says you must receive one quote from a registered Green Homes Grant installer, but how do we know who is?

Yeah the same, its a little worrying!
  • This scheme appears to be a complete farce, there are no suppliers in Dorset. Apparently a supplier has to pay to join the scheme and most are too busy to complete by March so aren't interested. We are pensioners who would be entitled as not enough insulation in a loft room. So disappointing.
  • I Would like to apply for the green grant but when I put trustmark contractors in it gives me a company and says it covers my area.  I live on the Isle of Wight.  I am a little confused as to how I get the contractors to give me a quote.  One was in Blackpool!!,
