JohnnyFish said:If you change the supplier you have to amend the voucher. Good luck with thatI had to get my voucher amended because I changed supplier, but I was able to manage it.Took me quite a lot of hassle, but I have now had both the measures I wanted done and completed under the Green homes grant scheme. So in that sense it's been successful.Did I save any money? Well sort of - the companies I used quoted double what I would have expected. So yes, I saved a little bit because I only paid a third of that inflated cost, but the taxpayer was the real loser.0

Had a local firm round to look at a front door replacement. During the conversation I asked whether his company had been involved with the GHG scheme. He almost fainted on the spot - explained that they had lost money/business because of the lack of timely payments and last minute changes to the requirements to meet the scheme - needless to say ,they had stopped taking any part very early on.0

Had the email from the Government last week advising that all vouchers must be redeemed by the end of November. Next day installer advises he has had to increase the price by £2000 and if I still want the work done I must apply for an amendent to my voucher sending a new quote.
Why? I am already using the £5000 limit so any increase in price is for me to cover. Guess it is a way of removing customers from their waiting list and making a bigger profit.0 -

Most of the work I've asked for quotes on is way above normal costs from a builder not on the scheme, adding 2k must mean a hell of a % increase or are you having a particularly big job done?0 -
I thought this day might never come...

Just got this email from GHG looks like it takes about 2 weeks after I redeemed it to pay the installer.

Just had a call to try and get a survey for the door, already got a voucher based on a quote from October, but they won't tell me what they quoted for and won't let me see the doors before the survey. Apparently most people go for an upgrade, I explained that £1800 is already too much for a door and I can get it locally for much less!
Still no install date on the flat roof0 -
Just spoke to the GHG helpdesk - they keep on sending me a standard eMail asking for more information - They want know how many walls are going to be insulated. This after they have previously issued voucher for the work to another company who has gone out of business due to the GHG 'efficiency'.
Helpdesk girl was moderately helpful - also told me they still have 3000 applications in progress!
Now 8 months of messing around and stress in trying to get the voucher!
