Anyone replaced 17" Peugeot 3008 wheels with 15" wheels for a softer ride? I have 225/50R17 Thes
Anyone replaced 17" Peugeot 3008 wheels with 15" wheels for a softer ride?
I have 225/50R17
These convert to
225/60R15 or 215/65R15
Which would be softer 225/60 or 215/65?
215/70R14 are exactly the same overall diameter and would be even softer but would they fit? Clear the discs?

On a relatively high car like a 3008, i'd have thought introducing bigger sidewalls would risk the car feeling "boaty".
See what the minimum size wheel Peugeot have put on the 3008 and run with that if you really must.
I cant imagine that you're currently experiencing a hard ride in a 3008 TBH.
Not convinced it would clear the brake setup anyway, but i cant imagine too many people have done it so you might have to try and a rim in see.
Personally, i wouldnt.1 -

Are we talking the old-shape "sprogbus" 3008, or the current "softroader" one?
What does the tyre pressure sticker list as alternative fitments for your car?
I'd have thought it very unlikely 14" would fit.

Exactly the feel I want. I stopped taking corners at 90 about 30 years ago.

Maybe go for a middle of the road choice of 215/60/16 which are an oem fit on the PF2 series (which I assume this is due to the size quoted)My 235/45/19s on an SUV are not in the least bit harsh even with the oem stiffer suspension set up.0

Basic physics says that can only be bone-jarringly awful.1 -
The whole car industry are focused only on HANDLING and asaas result the suspension and wheel set up are horrendously jarring. I used to drive my dad's 1966 Vauxhall Victor 101 which was like riding a magic carpet, you could run over 3 dead bodies and not even notice but for the thuds. In the last few years the industry has noted they're faux par and some are softening upAdrianC said:molerat said:My 235/45/19s on an SUV are not in the least bit harsh even with the oem stiffer suspension set up.
