...just on the punt-point, as several have alluded to, any such investments should be done from an informed as is possible perspective. Can I ask what sources of information members use to keep up-to-date with recent developments re company acquisitions/ deals etc. Case in point, the following would have obviously helped re my possible eqtec investment, the rise in SP coming immediately after the date of the web page update.

Will bookmark this site for future reference, but any other sources that members are willing to divulge would be appreciated.

As a starting point, before investing in any company you should be aware of how the company has evolved and where it sees itself going in the future. You should then make youself aware of the wider market in which it operates .I have always found it useful with a company which is new to me, to read as a starting point every RNS issued by the company in the last 2 or 3 years. There is no rush to invest. The more you know before you buy shares the better. The post at 10.47am on this thread will tell you how to quickly access an RNS list.1

Was aware of the RNSs and their importance. Just thinking of live 'news' sources that focus on company deals, acquisitions etc without having to rifle through the RNS docs for cos you happen to be researching. Another example that came via a regular news feed since my last entry here is some important news on Tesla, that will likely push the share price up further Monday. Might be wrong, but getting in early on this might allow for a small profit punt. Have also bookmarked this source. Just effectively sites that release these updates, that might allow for a random punt consideration, at least.0 -

And while news in Tesla is likely to be avidly awaited and pored over by a huge universe of institutional and private investors, that is less true of some of the smaller companies mentioned further up this thread. For AIM shares, with much lower daily trade volumes (and much higher risk!), the influence of private investors on the share price can be greater than it is for the big companies and sometimes investors can be slow to act...or even just slow to get out of bed on a Monday morning! So it is quite possible for a private investor to react to a piece of news - the important thing is to be aware that others are also reacting and not pile in regardless of price.3 -

Please find below a list of possible punts. This is not a core or throwaway exercise, but more a bit of play, if that makes sense. Would appreciate any comments on any, if any.
Thanks in advance.

THG was a good punt and mentioned a month or so earlier, good strong management and financials, recently have made some large acquisitions, not dependent on bricks and mortar and very much a tech, online business and diversifies their Income streams. Some articles say they are an amazon in the making, but I think that's overhype, they only started trading only recently on the stock market, so far 20% up on my punt.
I would Add ARWR to that list, I regret not buying at 57 p, but on my watch list at the moment, seems a good biotech punt if you get the price right and understand the philosophy behind their products, to add to your portfolio for diversify would be reasonable, but there are biotech funds/ IT'S which may be more suitable and have far more companies to manage risk
Was looking at Eqtec and the recent deal they've signed to develop a power plant. Also thought SBE might still have loads to grow as we're really at the outset of the EV charging development. THG seems something I might go for on the basis of recent acquisitions. Think you might have mentioned ARWR a little while back. Will look at this again.

I may be wrong of course but I think Shocking Blue is looking for a way of making a quick profit without much effort.
