Agreed .     I regard most of it as an entertaining read.   I seem to recall one poster who having just bought shares, asked  'what does the company do ?'    Presumably he had on impulse just bought shares in the company as he had noticed that the shares had risen steeply !!
Ditto, saw one poster said her husband bought at 134p RR shares, are they any good lol Seeing as they have dropped 20% probably wrong time

The RR nuclear division is an interesting developement. Might give the shares some legs if the Government gives the green light to the proposals.

they are certainly less riskier than say CINE or IAG, but not no risk.  I see they have sold assets and reduced their debt slightly

on the separate note, I see IAG has secured more loans to help with their cashflow, this happened after the market closed. My crystal Ball tells me it may shoot up on Monday, it may even drag RR up as well

On the same note I note that AJ bell shares are down due to the founder selling his shares, can anyone explain why this would be the case, I am sure the company is not in trouble, maybe he wanted to liquidate his assets for a new private jet

Perhaps he considers that the shares over valued. An opportune time to cash in.
  • Dear all,
Please find below a list of possible punts. This is not a core or throwaway exercise, but more a bit of play, if that makes sense. Would appreciate any comments on any, if any.
    Thanks in advance.

SBE and EQT to an extent I think the boat has sailed, with the latter being volatile and beyond my risk appetite.

THG was a good punt and mentioned a month or so earlier, good strong management and financials, recently have made some large acquisitions, not dependent on bricks and mortar and very much a tech, online business and diversifies their Income streams.  Some articles say they are an amazon in the making, but I think that's overhype, they only started trading only recently on the stock market, so far 20% up on my punt.

I would Add ARWR to that list, I regret not buying at 57 p, but on my watch list at the moment, seems a good biotech punt if you get the price right and understand the philosophy behind their products, to add to your portfolio for diversify would be reasonable, but there are biotech funds/ IT'S which may be more suitable and have far more companies to manage risk

A volatile share price with a share that has risen steeply is often a sign  that shareholders are taking profits at various times.  It would not bother me as long as the overall direction is up.

Possibly some would regard it as noise, and once the short selling has been done, it will stabilise

Short sellers borrow the stock, then sell it. In the expectation that the price will have fallen when they need to buy it back.

For every stock there'll be differing views. Price will move depending on whether it's the buyers or the sellers that hold the upper hand. Directors transactions are followed by many as signals.

    Thanks.
Was looking at Eqtec and the recent deal they've signed to develop a power plant. Also thought SBE might still have loads to grow as we're really at the outset of the EV charging development. THG seems something I might go for on the basis of recent acquisitions. Think you might have mentioned ARWR a little while back. Will look at this again.
