Been lurking on this thread for a while and appreciate reading people's views and ideas on speculative punts.
I just invested ~£6k in Fastly yesterday and would like to hear your thoughts.
Did you notice you have made the right decision !!!
Assuming you bought it on August 8, 2020 you have made 10%+ gain by today !!!  It may take another few days before it will reach all time high again ??
I think it is good to trade against the news where no fundamental change has happened. It might be in line to what Warren Buffet has said :
"Be Gready when others are fearful"

I noticed that as I have KLWD (GBP version of WCLD) which has that as a top investment.. nice earner

Well, the Nio I bought at 15 is down at 13.5 but the tsla at 1500 [just the 4 for a quick buck) is currently a gnats todger off 2000. I will sell those after the split now.
And  as BH will know and I did advise him to buy Tesla perhaps a year ago but he slapped me in the face with a short on it instead and made $30 LOL ,my original purchase of TSLA perhaps 18 months ago I s looking more than prescient. I have made enough to buy a Tesla roadster.
I did also suggest posters here to buy Apple whenever it was around $100. Nit sure when that was. 2 years ago perhaps?
    Anyone listen? Hope so.
But I'm out of ideas on this scale at the moment.
Tesla is still a 2x from here in 12-24 months Apple I'm not sure.
My Tesla has made 108% gain but I am not going to sell it anytime soon. At least I will hold it until they join the S&P 500 where I am hoping another big jump.
I bought NIO When it was US$ 4.75 I sold half of it when it was around US$14.00. I might be adding my position again  when it fell around US$10. As we know they are a growth company so it is yet to make a profit.
But NIO is chinese government EV project so the chance that it will go bancrupt is highly unlikely. It might be just a matter of time before it becomes chinese TESLA. You will never know.
If you are interested in another EV, it might be worthy to invest time to have a look on Workhorse (WKHS). If they win US$ 6bil contract from USPS it might jump significantly. Cathie Wood from ARK Invest has a long time position in this stock and I just read the news that she recently added her position again in this stock.

Indeed. That is the reason why even you see you make a gain a few bucks from the  historical price in US$ it might be showing negative in £ due to poor £/US$ the exhache rate when you bought it.
But from another side when you buy US$ stock from the same sterling you get from selling the US$ stock you will get more US$ stock with your £.
  • Alien Metals LTD could be worth a look, gold is not the only shiny in the pack.

Thanks. Will check them out. Endorsement from ark is a big plus.  I'd vaguely heard of them but that's all, there's a lot of companies moving into this space now.  Also Rivian with Amazons investment and there's Arrival in the U.K. but they are still private at present.
Just steer clear of Nikola. Apart from being a scam, even if it wasn't, on their own figures, it's going to run out of money within a year,  and they are 2 years off getting revenue.
So either bust (then the founders can walk away with no sanctions) or another stock issue to raise capital, massively diluting BH's shares (Only joshing BH I have a lot of respect for you,  but seriously get out of that)

If BH is a reference to me rather than to Berkshire Hathaway, I haven't got (and never had) a position in Nikola...

Of the stocks mentioned in last couple of pages I have NIO as mentioned about a month ago on this thread when someone was asking about whether it could be held in an ISA or pension -  but not Nikola.
  • I bought Sea Limited (SE) recently and am sitting on a good gain. It's already a very big business but I think still has much further to go. Not so much speculative but a pretty sure thing, IMO.
