6 minutes - Never left car - £100 fine

Is this allowed or should I just bite the bullet and pay? I have emailed them explaining the situation but need to pay by the end of this week to make it 60 instead of 100 pound.

My wife had to get a drink of water for my 3 year old son who had got in tantrum and got very worked up. It was a private carpark and they have camera images of my wife leaving the car and coming back with the drink in hand.

The ppc is one parking solution and it took place in Worthing. I will check through the newbie message board too. I struggled to find any where people hadn't left the car and such a short period of time. Thanks for the replies0

It's the remaining on a private site that counted , not the leaving the vehicle or not
Download and read the BPA CoP , clause 13 , grace periods
Then read the Newbies FAQ sticky thread near the top of the forum3 -

Which car park? Broadwater Street West?Is this allowed or should I just bite the bullet and pay? I have emailed them explaining the situation but need to pay by the end of this week to make it 60 instead of 100 pound. You are on a forum where people are accompanied to court to win v OPS in Worthing. I act as a free lay rep for people in this area; read the Lewes case thread for one example. They operate scam sites.
Why ANYONE would pay them is beyond me!
We can help you with a POPLA appeal first but can you send me a picture of the PCN by pm please?
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

It is not a fine, it is an invoice from an ex-clamper to compensate them for the alleged harm they suffered when you did what you did. We call it a scam. Pay them not a penny unless a judge so orders it.
Nine times out of ten these tickets are scams, so consider complaining to your MP., it can cause the scammer extra costs, and in some cases, cancellation.
Parliament is well aware of the MO of these private parking companies, many of whom are former clampers, and on 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these shysters. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up later this year,
Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many of these companies, persistent offenders denied access to the DVLA database and unable to operate.
Hopefully life will become impossible for the worst of these scammers, but until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.

You never know how far you can go until you go too far.1 -
This is a scam site and I've no idea why people pull into this 'pay & display' private road!
Why not stop on street in a bay or in the shop area opposite, or even on a yellow line; you'd be fine to stop for a few minutes. Stopping IS allowed on double yellows to enable a person to board and alight, as the lady did in the photos I saw. It's exempt activity on-street but not in OPS' la-la land.
Next time, NEVER seek out a car park for this sort of stop. Anyway, it's easy to beat.
I've taken a look and the car drives round an entrance trap area (it's not a car park) and turns round and leaves. Tracked by CCTV, not ANPR, and there are even some images at the points where the car is not within 'the site' of the access road.
The change from public highway to private land is the point on the access road where it says 'Pay & Display' so the photos at the start and end show the car actually on public highway, not private land. Here's a map:

The car is on site (past the P&D words/site boundary) for six miutes but driving round an access road. It is only stopped for 3 minutes. There is no 'P' entrance sign at all even though the car park within is not tiny.I have emailed them explaining the situationDo you mean you appealed? You don't mean emailed, you mean you went on their website and lodged an appeal? Good (and in this case, it doesn't matter if you admitted to driving BUT NEVER do that again before coming here!). Now, just wait for the rejection letter.but need to pay by the end of this week to make it 60 instead of 100 pound.Errm, no - clearly this is a scam entrapment site (the fact I know it and guessed it was this ''car park'' gives you a clue!). You won't be paying a penny and this is winnable if you come back for help with your POPLA appeal.
Do NOT lodge a POPLA appeal (2nd stage) without help. I will send you a pm with all the photos in order, you will see what I mean that the car was only stopped for 3 minutes and there is no entrance sign facing drivers as they arrive.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
