helenmiddlerasen said:Here is their latest response - I no longer have the v5c as I sold the car. I provided them with a screenprint of a .gov UK email confirming transfer of ownership and a bank statement. I have asked them to explain how they will verify photo ID and to explain why a bank statement is not sufficient, and also for the name of their DPO officer.
Just issue a complaint to the ICO as they are clearly and knowingly being obstructive
towards you
PHOTO ID is NOT proof, easily faked.2 -
Thanks will do 👍0

Here is today's reply - they are absolutely insisting on photo ID apparently on advice from the ICO. I can only complain about them 30 days after my first contact, which is 26th July0

Hmmm, photos don't seem to be posting0

Clearly they have no intenrion to supply the information and they are being obstructive. That will not bode well on them if it went to court.
Forget the 30 days, report them to the ICO as there is no law or requirement to provide Photo ID especiaaly we are all repeatably told NOT to provide SUCH ID to anyome you know nothing about which could be detremental to your safety and security. Tell the ICO that
It will be interesting to see what the ICO says about your security and privacy
I would suggest the ICO have told them they can ask for Photo ID but the ICO would NOT have told them they can insist on it
Complain to the ICO quickly0 -
Would it hurt to send a part-redacted pic of your driving licence? I think pick your battles and getting a SAR doesn't need to be such hard work.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Just redact the photo!0

Sorry guys, why would anyone do this, the PPC is an unknown quantity, the whole industry cannot be trusted
Redacting the pic is no different to a redacted bank statement which has been provided
If these fools went to court, it would be a case of asking for a strike out as they fail to provide information
ID without a picture means nothing. Let the ICO tell the OP why they should provide such ID0 -

It would also highlight the stupidity of the DPO if thy then came back and refused because of the redacted photo. They have no way of “identifying” the OP even if they could see the picture. All ammunition that can be used to enhance the complaint to the ICO.1 -
Hello All,
Received this couple of days ago after an (unsuccessful POPLA appeal 2 years ago) after reading through the thread the advice seems to be to ignore CST right ?!0
