So, are you saying that the post is on the right thread?  If so I apologise to OP.
Yes, think so old boy, keep the idiots (CST) in one basket, they are a virus so best to keep them contained

    Good Morning,
A family member of mine has received a LBC from CST Law for parking tickets one year ago. The correspondence was sent to a previous address but they are still within the 30 days to reply. They have added £70 to each ticket as well as an additional £75 for recovery of the charge (total they are claiming isn't far off a grand). I have read the newbies thread as well as several others on CST and have drafted on their behalf:
    1) SAR request to the parking operator
    2) A request for a 30 day hold to CST denying any debt and seeking debt advice, also denying any contractual obligations.
*in both correspondence i advise of new address, i intended on sending these out by email.
Firstly thank you for all of the information kind souls have already uploaded info to aid people in overcoming these shysters. However, i am hesitant to hit send, i am in Scotland and have read several comments instructing to ignore these fake LBCs if received in Scotland. I would just like some direction on whether to hit send or ignore.
I'm sure you have read this thread, same old rubbish from CST.
    See my post on this

Firstly, you are in Scotland and the same rule applies, you never name the driver.

The LBC is not fake but what they are claiming is fake.

They have added £70 to each ticket as well as an additional £75 for recovery of the charge.
CST now need to prove their claim for these charges ... they cannot.  An LBC needs a reply and you do that by denying any debt and asking for their legal authority to add such charges.

Assume they are still cloud dreaming saying they are instructed by DRP. If so, ask for a copy of a contract you have with DRP ....... there is no contract as DRP are simply circus clowns who do not own the debt

CST have been sending out probably 1000's of letters looking for mugs. Considering the volume of the scam, we have yet to see a lot of cases go to court. That is probably because they know they will be spanked by a judge for fakery

Play the game, ask questions they don't want to answer and cannot answer.  IMPORTANT that you get confirmation of the new address

Yes i posted here as i seen a previous comment requesting people post here and do not start separate threads.
    Thank you for the advice.
I am going to email CST denying the debt asking what legal authority they have to add charges and asking for proof of contract between keeper of the vehicle and DRP.
I am also going to email a SAR to the parking agents DPO.
I can't find an email for CST only for the parent company credit style ltd so i'll send them the email. Should i send a third email to the parking agents general enquiries about the updating of the address?
Last question, what is likely to happen after CST receive the email and the parking agent receives the SAR?
  • Hi Folks
I've been following the advice of these posts and am at a stage where I have done the following (as per beamerguys advice).
    1) SAR request to the parking operator
    2) A request for a 30 day hold to CST denying any debt and seeking debt advice, also denying any contractual obligations (including asking for their legal authority to add such charges).
I have received the SAR information from SmartParking, and am awaiting a response from CST/CreditSearch. I have noticed that the time of the meter is incorrect by an hour and doesnt match their ANPR, although I'm not sure if there is any 'value' to that.
Any advice/info would be greatfully received.

You should submit your SAR to the DPO of the paring company.  You should send your Data Rectification Notice also to the DPO of the parking company advising of address for service and requiring them to a) ERASE your old data and b) advise all and any of their agents of the change.

The PPC must respond to the SAR within 30 days.

Anybody's guess what CST will say, no contract with DRP, no answer to fake add-ons, we just wait

Okay, thanks again. If i do get a reply from CST i'll post an update if it seems like it might be useful to others. Really quite shocking that they get away with this, i hate to think of the hysteria they are likely causing people who may not have the capacity to do a bit of research on it.

You are right but on this forum we have CST under control. We have seen a mass send out of letters but so far there is NOT a mass of court claims. Don't expect an answer, the purpose of the letter is to let them know that you are not a mug. Doubtful CST will behave like Lemmings

This is exactly the same point I'm up to after following your advice, including asking for their authority for charges etc. I have recieved my SAR info, just waiting on CST's response. I will post any return correspondence I get.
