I will certainly go back and get photos If I do defend this. The latest google maps street view images are from 2018 as the most recent and they fail to show the pay and display meters so it must have changed since. I don't believe there is a VAT number on any of the 3 tickets as VAT numbers are usually 9 digits long aren't they?

Can I ask the importance of the tax numbers out of curiosity?

The VAT number would identify who was actually offering the contract; it may not be Alliance Parking UK.

Particularly as Alliance has mutated via A S Parking and Athens Security Services. It may well be that the signage was in the name of one of the other two. I note you are 4 hours away from the location, so why not see if a local can take some photos for you. Try to find a local Facebook or Twitter Group (or some other social media site) and ask for help. There's a universal dislike of PPCs so I'm sure there'll be someone who can help out.

While not directly appropriate here, but for other posters searching on Alliance for tickets in the Swansea area, Alliance took over former Millennium Security Group car parks, so signage is of great importance in these cases.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Not only the signage; but also the Landowner's contract, given that Alliance Parking UK didn't become members of the IPC until August 2018

If you tell us the precise location, someone here may already have information about it.

The 'car park' is in Harlyn Bay, North Cornwall.
    Thanks everyone.
  • I parked in car park operated by A S Parking in December 2019. Due to an issue with the Parkonomy app, my payment was made against my old vehicle. I notified A S Parking but got no response but there was a PCN on my windscreen when I collected the car from a company called Alliance Parking UK Limited.
If I had forgotten to pay for parking I would have simply paid the fine, but as this was not my fault I don't see that I should.
Long and short of it, I've tried to appeal but to no avail and they are demanding payment. As a long shot I contacted the ICO as during the appeal process they clearly stated that A S Parking are a separate company that obtain data from Parkonomy. They then pass this information on to Alliance Parking to issue the PCN. The ICO investigated and said that in their view "based on the information available, that APUK has therefore failed to adequately account for its data processing activities.”
Surely this means they have obtained my personal information illegally and the PCN cannot stand?
They sent a letter today threatening court action. I have no idea what to do next, open to suggestions anyone.

@davesworld, your best bet is to repost your reply above onto your existing thread.
  • Is there any update on this case, did the PCN get cancelled or did you end up paying it??? I am interested as I will no doubt be having a PCN from Alliance Parking sent to me soon as a result of a parking issue in one of their car parks in Rock, Cornwall.
