Hi I am going shopping for a digital photo frame this weekend as I want to give one as a present to my Auntie for Xmas. Can anyone tell me if I can use a USB memory stick with these instead of a memory card as these are old photos that have been "rescued" from an old hard drive of my deceased uncle. Does anyone know?

    Thanks

the link above has usb you only put the memory card in to store the photo's on once you have sorted which photo's you want... hths:D

  • That looks quite good, had just reserved this from Argos Buy Agfa Photo Digital Photo Frame. at Argos.co.uk - Your Online Shop for . dont know which to get now:confused: . Never heard of the other company, any one dealt with them? not much difference in price when inc p&p, any ideas which is better?

  • The argos one is a little over priced for that size, (but it is christmas and stocks are dwindling - Amazon now whacked an extra 20 quid on the one I got a week or two, only a tenner last week) but does have the advantage you can buy and try it easier than an on line purchase.

I would question the resolution of that DataWrite one - 960 x 234 doesn't sound right and 5.6" a little small unless its for use on a desk.
Also the combination of a low resolution phone picture and low res frame may limit the usefulness of the bluetooth ability.
As said elsewhere I prefer to crop the picture to fill the fame to best effect, but that might just be me.

I did get a couple of 7" 480x234 ones last year (similar to the Argos linked ones) and compared with the 8" 720x480 one I got this year, of course the resolution is not as good (clearly seen in the numbers) and close up the picture does look a little liney, but from a normal distance is not to bad, also I find the older (480x234) ones don't have such a good colour range which shows up in flesh tones etc but even then can vary depending on picture.

Don't forget to look for ability to Auto Run - I think thats quite important if its not to sit on the shelf unused
My older ones do , but newer one doesn't - so isn't the case its a std feature yet

Edit: looking back up the thread the Tesco one must be worth a look - similar/better price + autorun according to poster

edit2: see how they try to play silly games with the resolution specs - "Screen resolution 1440 x 234 pixels"
    1440 / 3 = 480 ( the 3 being the R, the G and the B )
so its 480 x234 same as all the rest then, but 'Lynninjapan' already reported no auto run on this one

I use this company all the time you pay around £5 delivery but you then get it very quick within afew days...:DI have bought the bluetooth one for my B and SIL for christmas had a fiddle with it when it came works great I sent about 20 desktops at 800x600 to it via BT and it does everything for you put afew christmas songs on and turn it on and it just works in slide show mode with music no fiddling just works the 5.6 is the actually picture not the frame it self thats about 7-8" altogether I like it that much that I now want one...hope this helps merry christmas everyone...
