Just home ..it's been very busy today up until about 1.30pm whereas it just died then!!!!...it's the local derby today Blackpool V Preston...so I'm best in the house as they are mad...Police everywhere.
As for debtbusting not a lot going on here....take care xx0 -
Hi Taxi
Must be a great feeling paying for those doors and windows in cash... So makes it worth the wait to have them paid for in full.. It really inspires me to read it.. I want/need a new bathroom so I'm going to take a leaf out of your book and actually save for it!! Quite new concepts to me.
I definately agree you should go to Mexico, you are working hard, you are making progress with the debt and managing to save for tax and pay for windows in cash so what more could you be doing... You should definately have a reward for all that..
Have a nice weekend0 -
Thank you keeping motivated.....what a lovely post!!!
It does feel really strange saving up for things as I've always put them on CCs or had loans to pay for things and I'm sure if I can do it so can you for your new bathroom.I look forward to your challenge and watching your progress.
I need to phone AMEX up because as I pay that CC in full...I want to take the best advantage date wise of paying for my holiday on it to have the most interest free days until it's due to be paid ..doing this for 5% cashback.
I have a 5k O?d available so it's not a major disaster if I'm slightly out on the dates as it will still be paid in full ..I need just about another £1k to go with my tax and holiday savings to have the total not to go into the O/D though...so really need a month to get the rest together to be able to get the 5% cash back...as I only get that amount for 3 months..lol..0 -
Afternoon everyone..that was a long hard shift....I'm now quite tired...it was slow and when it's like that it's hard work ..took £70 in the end but thats low for a sunday...but better than nothing....
Rang AMEX up last night and me and the CS lady were talking for ages...it's a normal number...She was saying I was very financially savvy and I recommended her to come on this site...lol...they are very nice there...anyway found my cut off date is 24th month so guess the 25th is the best day to pay for my holiday ....
Am going to watch it pays to watch after as I remembered to get DH to record it this morning..will have to wait for him to get up as I don't know how to use it...LOL
Nothing else happening here...0 -
Sorry to read it was a tough shift, but as you say £70 is £70 at the end of the day!
When you watch "it pays to watch" make sure you notice how tidy my house was :rotfl:

I will take note of how tidy your house is as I remember you running around like a blue ar...d fly beforehand.0

Hi Everyone...Hypno I had to do mine as the old frames on the back were in serious danger of falling out and I knew they wouldn't last another year...the old back door (was a wood one ) had started to split as well....my front door which is a double glazed one but a cheap run of the mill one...the wind just howls through that and we get a load of draughts...the 2 front windows that were already double glazed are not to bad but have changed them as doing the rest of the house!!!
So far have had 4 back windows and a back door fitted...next is two front windows (now ordered)..after that front door....then I'm having the fascias soffitts and drainpipes done!!!....
Pity they don't take CC as I have 12 months interest free on purchases and balance transfers on halifax or 5% cashback on Amex....never mind!!!
Had a alright day on the cab today so that's good...no surveys for me today and I've still got to do pigsback yet..not much happening on the debt busting front but on the other hand am having the windows done which in turn will save money on the heating..lol..
I'm no longer going to feel bad about the holiday as we deserve it!!...lol...cos every1 says so..
take care xx
Hi Taxi
Is there not a way round this by balance transferring the amount into a bank account and then using the cash to pay for windows. Would have thought it would be similar to stoozing:D0 -
Hi everyone...
I don't think so as AMEX isn't meant as a BT card and doesn't offer 0%...I was thinking of phoning the halifax to see if they do CC cheques but you have to be careful with that as they can count as a cash withdrawal...some companies give them as part of 0% but don't want to apply for anymore.Good idea though.
I haven't got much to pay on them now.But thanks for the idea.
I'm happy today as I logged into PIGSBACK this morning and have £27.30 of points.....I won the £20 trivia quiz yesterday!!!!!!...so am well happy....
I've done the usual DFW things today and I've put another £70 in the window fund...
Haven't been to work as had a dodgy tummy but will be going tomorrow.Hope you've all had a good day today xx0
