Taxi, what can I say...........your debt busting is amazing, especially considering the lack of earnings last year, and your saving for windows too!!
Bloody brilliant :T :TSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
I'm quite proud of myself and really don't know how I've done it as many avenues not open to me (as I'm a technophobe)...so no e-bay ,surveys etc..done a couple of car boots though.
I had all that time off work and to be truthful haven't been in much at all since new year!!!...been sorting stuff..mortgages etc...nearly got my money for my back windows so as soon as that's in the bag ..I will save for my back door £1080...never saved for anything before so in a strange way quite liberating!!0 -

Think I'm eventually getting my act together now ..I really do have to learn not to fear the internet as there are very good money making opportunities out there...it's really is a strange feeling saving and paying cash...as is saving up and paying my tax and saving up and paying for my holiday ...feel that I have much more control...can't wait for my new mortgage to start0

You are doing really well. It's funny how it takes some of us 40+ years to get our head round saving and being responsible with money. Better late than never.Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620

Hi Taxi
Just trawled through about six pages looking for your thread:eek: .
Hope you have had a good day.Just looking at your sig and its looking really positive - sub £33k:T and savings too:T .You and OH have achieved a lot over the past year, hope that doesn't sound patronising it isn't meant to be:o I remember when you posted the thread about how much you had shaved off your budget by cancelling things or reducing outgoings, just shows it has all paid off with what you have been able to achieve, even while you have been off work:A :A
PS I am still really jealous that you have an OH who can cook roast dinners:rotfl:
take care

Hi Sophiesmum,
How are you?..sorry you had to struggle to find my diary..I haven't updated it today as I had nothing to put in it really.Of course it doesn't sound patronising ...I set that thread up at that time just to show people what could be shaved off here and there and to help people and at the time it did which is good.
I sometimes have to pinch myself as well as can't believe how far we've come.If I hadn't took those measures then it would've been a completely different story now.
He's a good all rounder my DH a real gem ...maybe I could rent him out..he'd be good value for money....
Take care xxx0 -
