Hi taxi. I'm sorry to hear you're feeling so bad about it. No amount of money is worth feeling like that over.
You're not going nuts, you are understandably steressed out by the car disaster and all the hassles you've had over it. These things can make us lose a sense of perspective. Could you go and see a friend, just to have someone to talk to and to take your mind off the situation for a while?Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620 -
youve had so many highs and lows over the last week or so your mind doesnt know if its coming or going. i said we need highs and lows but probably not that close together!
you have to take deep breathes, think what can i control?
i shall deal with them
the things i cant control-they arent my responsibilty, outta my hands, try to let them go
will writing a list make it more clearer for you
remember all the support you can get from here
please try to calm down and try to enjoy the rest of the day, can you not go away for a bit,the two of you somewhere close by but where you havent been to for awhile, only for a few hours if youve got work commitments or could you plan to do something to look forward to
big hugs and remember were herexxI am not bossy I just have better ideas:p0 -
Oh taxi, I am sorry to read that news - I hate insurance, cars and all the hassle that come with them. If they weren't a bloody necessity I would happily do without.
As has been said above, you have had a torrid couple of weeks with this - and none of it is your fault.
Put your fighting boots on, and pick up that phone, write a letter or something. Get Watchdog involved, lobby your MP - you cannot surely be held responsible for a shortfall when the damage to the car is not your fault.
It takes the wind out of your sails when you are "let down" badly like this.....that much is very apparent in your post. If it is making you feel that bad, please go and speak to your GP, whether to get a "tonic" as my old Nan would say, or just to sit down and let it all out with someone else.
If I were nearer I would be round with a stiff drink, some biccies and a big hug, but sadly I am not.
Pop back on, hun, and let us know how you are......you have a lot of friends here who care, and who will do whatever we can to help.

Thanks all ..I don't feel any better at all unfortunately.I had a business and will not soon unless I take a load more debt on!!!!...ie buy another car...after the insurance settlement I will still owe nearly £900 to the finance company...on top of that I have already paid 11 months off the previous car and a £2k deposit..so have no deposit either so I will have to start from scratch IYSWIM.....
No deposit higher payments..then pit the cab etc have the meter fitted etc thats £100s of pounds more.
How can the law allow that to happen ..by the way you cannot purchase gap insurance for a taxi either so that wouldn't have solved the problem.
I f we decide not to bother with another taxi then half share driving won't even cover the bills...so thats not the answer either.
I don't know what the answers are anymore but at this moment in time am thinking of becoming a criminal as crime seems to pay and lets face it they don't get thrown in prison either....so this sounds like a good option.I feel like burning there house down to let them suffer the stress that they are putting me through!!!!!!!!!!!!
DH had to stop me going before like I said I think I'm becoming mentally ill!!!!!!!!...
I was going to phone the !!!!! but DH took the phone off me.
I am sick of being an honest tax paying citizen working !!!!ing hard for some !!!!!! to put me out of business!!!!!!...I wasn't even in the god damned car and I am not to blame so why am I the one to !!!!ing suffer.I feel like walking away from everything....
sorry about the rant0 -
Rant away Taxi thats what this diary is all about. Not much I can say but I agree you should not be out of pocket on this at all and no wonder you are so stressed.
Have you thought about posting on the Motoring Board or/and the Car Insurance Board (if there is one) to seek advice of the experts over there to see if there is any other kind of claim you can make?
Could you buy a taxi the same age as the one you lost rather than one that is brand new again or would that not make any difference? Hopefully claims for physical health and loss of earnings will be able to compensate for the shortfall?
Big hugs and take care (keep hitting those pillows and get rid of the anger before you do something you regret)

Thanks KM....I have been reading the insurance board and have not come up with any answers there..will have a look at the motoring board if there is one.
My old taxi was 10 MONTHS OLD so thats why I thought they would be able to sort it out....DL state in their policy if a car is under 12 months old and will cost more than 60% of the replacement cost to repair then they'll replace it...DL is her insurer!!!!!...so what they can do for their own customer why can't they do it for me!!!!!!!!!!!..it was there customer that wrote my cab off...
At this moment in time I wouldn't regret anything at all that I do as they say revenge is a dish best served cold....I am so angry at the moment..why is there no law to help people like us...and because it hasn't been challenged in a court before I would have to pay the solicitors and court fees up front so how the hell can it be challenged!!!!!0 -
Just phoned my accountant up and he has said that as it's an assett of the business then we can recooperate some of it but obviously not until next year as accounts are a year behind!!!!...
My next job is to get the accounts done and into him as the loss of earnings cannot be done without the previous 3 years books ..so that's more money to pay out....we are going to have to go into more debt before we can sort this lot out....
it's never ending...0 -
I know that it is not much consolation, but remember that this whole thing could have been a whole lot worse.........the car/money thing may be !!!!!! but at least OH is still here.
BUT, one thing you should do, is include this additional stress in the personal injury compensation claim - you are both genuinely suffering here, and that should be accounted for.Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. Their insurer will tell you anything in order to minimise their costs. Obviously, you're not their customer.
Your reasonable costs will be reimbursed. Reasonable being a bit of a weasel word, but provided you're not outlandish, then they will be.
I would advise you to see independant legal advice. One of these no-win no-fee solicitors will be just the ticket. Just make sure you get 100% of any compensation - their costs are paid by the other side."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)
