Not as bad as it seemed at first this. You will get loss of earnings and a pi compensation. The only bad thing is the hassle. You will likely lose out on the motor though due to the mileage. Refuse their first offer on both the pi and the car. You are in quite a strong position here actually with the replacement vehicle etc. You don't need to rush in to anything as you are still earning.
The main thing is that your husband is ok. Could have been much worse. Obviously he has to do a dieing swan act at the doctors though. It is your taxi driving duty to get as much out of this as possible£2 coin/ £460 -
Thats good, at least the insurance are helping to ease a bit of the worry off your mind. Hope your hubby takes it easy for a bit and remembers to have plenty of hot baths.

Taxi, what a terrible thing to happen, I am so sorry for you and your husband. I hope he really does feel OK and all goes smoothly. Good for you being so on top of the insurance and everything.Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620

Thanks everyone from DH and I for all the well wishes. He is feeling sore all over at the minute and has a large bruise on his head where the interior mirror came off and hit him on the head. He's going to make an appointment for the Drs in a bit.
We've been to licensing this morning and done the report. The replacement vehicle should be here some time this afternoon at the moment it is having all it's electrical equipment fitted.(radio, data head etc)...so that's something solved.
I cannot see how on earth they could possibly fix the car...BTM the car has only done 32000 miles and is 10 months old...I can't see how they can fail to provide a new one....I'm not after making money out of them on the car front but will refuse to be left in a worse position. My thinking was the same as you as I have the replacement one I will not settle unless it's in our interests...
The PI..he will be able to do his dying swan act for....loss of earnings and expenses incurred will be reclaimed as well..they had to cut his clothes off ..so will add that as well xxx
I'm only on top of it as when I phoned my brokers(bless BP) they set everything off with the claims management company...my own taxi insurance haven't even phoned me back yet!!!
PS..just phoned Dr and got DH an appointment for 3.10pm today0 -
I was insured with DL when my hubby got a car wrote off - they where brilliant and offered full market value straight away - I was amazed and impressed !Sealed pot challenge 822

I wish that DL did Taxi insurance as they seem very efficient!!!!...mines with Taxi Fleet Plus (Norwich union) and I will not be renewing with them again.
So am glad the girl that ran in to him has a reputable insurance firm...that's about all shes done right!!!!!
The replacement cab has arrived and I will need to go to the office shortly to get my designated number in the system and to the garage to fill it up as it comes nearly empty. Then I will be ready to work tomorrow most likely.
DH is at the Drs at the minute so am waiting for him to return.Must update my sig later x0 -
Morning all....hope you are all well this morning.
Nothing to report here ....I am hopefully just going to totter about today doing washing etc...MSE of course and other stuff...I need a peaceful day without the phone ringing off the hook and a constant stream of people through the house.I'm so exhausted.
I was going to go to work but DH says I'm not allowed to until I get used to the car...I will take it for a drive after.I drove it to the local Indian last night..I know it's not very MSE but we couldn't be bothered cooking. This car feels really strange compared with ours....hope everyone has a good day xxx0 -
hi Taxi, yes you def need a quiet day today - you have both been through an awful lot this week.
As for the Indian - I would have done exactly the same thing, as would most of us on here I should think - so certainly no shame there.
I hope you manage to get some peace today. how did OH get on at the Drs?Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
Oh Taxi, I'm sorry to hear about your poor DH - I hope he's feeling a little better today.
I'm not surprised you're exhausted - if I were you, I'd go back to bed for a few hours and plan a really lazy day today... it's probably only hitting you now. It sounds like you've been crazy busy for the last couple of days!
The car is unfortunate, but hopefully will be replaced. Your DH is one of a kind, though, and much more valuable! I hope he's getting over it now. Lots of TLC and rest will help.
Wishing you both all the best:grouphug:I'm an adult and I can eat whatever I want whenever I want and I wish someone would take this power from me.

Hi Hypno...Dr gave him a full examination and some co...codamol capsules and said he had whiplash and the bruising on his head is muscular as well as the rest of the swelling all over.We have a Tens machine here and has been using that here.Dr said it may get a bit worse over the next few days as well.I feel sorry for poor DH but am glad it wasn't so much worse IYSWIM.He is still quite shocked he keeps saying that he thought he was going to die and that he wouldn't have known anything about it.
He's worrying about the bills but I keep telling him not too and he's even on about going to work tonight.I have told him not to go and not to worry..if he insists then I'm sure he will only manage an hour or two and come home and forget the idea then for a few days....will deal with that later when he gets up.0
