Oh you poor love. It is nasty at the best of times, but when it is your living as well...
I hope he and you are ok. Take care of yourselves and please keep us posted.

Hi Taxi,
So sorry to hear about OH's accident. careless drivers make you so mad.
OH is so lucky to walk away from that one, hope he makes a quick recovery.
:grouphug: Hugs to both of you whilst you try and sort out a terrible situation, it is bad enough having your car off the road but when it is your livelihood it makes it even more of a hassle. You must be feeling very stressed at the moment.
Sounds like quite a lot of damage, hope the insurance writes it off for you and you get sorted out quickly.
Take care.0 -
Thanks everyone....for the good wishes...I'll tell you how bad one of the impacts was the interior mirror fell off and hit him on the head!!!!!....I can't get out of my head that an idiot could've killed him!!!!....He's feeling a bit less shook up now and he saw the car yesterday when we went to get a load of stuff out of it....it's only 10 months old!!!!!
Like I say one less worry that her insurance(direct line) have phoned me and are accepting full responsibility so at lest no arguments there.
Have to go to licensing this morning and do the full report.Phoned them yesterday to report it and they said to pop in today.Need to make an appointment for DH at the DRs as well and I guess there will be another round of endless phone calls today.
Am going to get the washing on now and thanks again everyone for your well wishes...cos I really needed those IYSWIM....so glad that it didn't kill him or disable him.....have a good day everyone.
I need to update my sig but JJ has broken my calculator so will have to do it later (when my brain is functioning)

Aarrgh - at least your OH isn't too badly hurt by the look of it though you will no doubt have to give lots of tlc. Good to see you have a replacement car for the time being and as you say yours should be a write off and at that age will the insurance be new for old?
take care and remember you are still convalescing (can't spell!)0 -
Oh taxi, I'm so sorry to hear this - the shock, the concern for each other, your livelihood... all of it. I hope you managed to get some sleep last night. Hot soaks really do help bruising, physical and emotional. Hope it goes fairly smoothly today, lots of hugs.2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Thanks you two...I am not claiming off my insurance company because it was totally not our fault we have informed ours for "information only" and as we have a full no claims bonus protected...when I took the taxi insurance out at the brokers I also took out a legal expenses and replacement taxi policy (seperately to the taxi insurance)....and this is the best policy to use at this time as because it is a straight cut case...and because DL have admitted liability...I will not have any insurance excess,my replacement taxi is quicker also and because they are a claims management team and all legal stuff is done in our interest rather than insurance companies...so well worth the £20 I paid for that on top.
In effect I am sort of double insured as I get these things on my normal insurance but if I claimed through them I have the excess to pay and my renewal is due soon and if it wasn't sorted then they put the premium up until it is sorted....
On the policy I am using I avoid all sorts of complications and I must admit the claims management company have been great so far .0 -
Hi everyone well I'm knackered....my taxi is a write off (probably..just awaiing confirmation)....
DH was out driving last night and basically a idiot didn't stop at the give way sign and ran into our car causing it to spin and end up in the side of a house.DH is home now but has bruising and is aching all over..he also lost consciousness so last night was spent awaiting removal of the vehicle and at the hospital with DH.....!!!!!!
I have no back panel on the passenger side and no front panel on that side either buckled wheels ..it's a real mess and DH could have been killed!!!!!....I'm absolutely gutted....thankfully he will be ok....
I have a replacement pitted cab arriving tomorrow...so will be able to get back to work saturday....I have been on the phone all day today sorting stuff and luckily the other drivers insurance phoned today and said they are accepting all liability so that is something I guess!!!!....the solicitor (mine has been to the house tonight) so the ball is rolling now.....so am pretty peed off and quite frankly feel like I've been in the crash..I feel sick..luckily he had dropped his passengers off on the next street only 2 mins earlier..so we haven't got those complications.I am awaiting the loss adjuster to see if it's a write off and to be fair I want them to write it off as I don't feel safe driving it again having had that amount of damage....
Nothing else to report xx
Oh Taxi that is horrible! I hope Mr Taxi will be okay (um word of warning he will probably feel worse in another day or so and that is when whiplash could kick in), I hope your solicitor is quickly on the ball and you (well Mr Taxi) gets a decent personal injury payout as well as the payout for the car (hmm and loss of earnings as well)Do not meddle in the affairs of Dragons, for thou art crunchy and good with catsup
