  • Hi Taxi

I'm not big on the politics side of things but I think that people who use petrol fro business should get priority and also if they can prove its for business get a reduced rate. That way surely food prices wouldn't go up because of the costs of petrol etc and people like you wouldn't have to put your fares up and would also still be able to earn a living.

I don't need petrol for business although I do not know how I would get to work without it as I doubt it would have a bus route but thats another story.

What I have said could probably start a debate but really my comments are out of ignorance as I don't know enough about the politics of it as I said.

Anyway my opinions aside I hope you are feeling better today.

Thanks everyone..managed to get fuel today so am happy about that ..our local shell ran out this morning.Has been not too bad on the cab today and will have to refill it in the morning after tonights shift...I think taxis become essential users when there are fuel shortages so I should be able to still pay the bills,...that was the worry xx
I don't know the answers from a political point of view..they are a law unto themselves the government.!!!!!

Excellent news - you will soon hammer that mortgage down, if your debt-paying abilities are anything to go by!!

I have a secured loan on my house, and really really want to overpay it but they won't let me......so I have to try and save £11500 in order to pay it off in one go.......bah!!! I really want to do this, but the temptation of having that money "available" could be too tempting........holiday anyone!!!

    Hi Hypno

Could you slam the money you earn into an ISA or something that you will not touch easily - and then you can pay off in one swell foop?

    Debt-free and Proud!
Must be worrying taxi but glad you have managed to get fuel for now. Hopefully they will reach a settlement and this won't drag on. Am lucky in that I could use the bus to get most places - it would take a lot longer and be inconvenient but would be possible. Only thing I wouldn't be able to do by bus is dog training. :(
But am hoping this doesn't become a long drawn out dispute.

hypno - put it away somewhere that takes notice to get out - you get better returns and it is harder to access so less temptation!

Thanks everyone..feeling better now..thanks...Hypno I'd put it in an account that is hard to get to too and getting interest on it can only help as well.
Hope you are all ok and have had an enjoyable day also.
Today I got up at 4.30am and went to work at 5.30am!!!!!..managed to fill up this morning so that's good news and had an ok day ...I finished about 1.30pm as it had gone quite quiet.
Since coming home I have done 2 loads of washing and hung it on the line...checked surveys and online banking etc...and paid another £100 overpayment on the mortgage....I haven't counted this in my sig and think I may make a line for that...I don't know yet.I have also had a lovely tea cooked by DH(he cooks every day)..steak pie ,mash.peas, sweetcorn, sprouts and gravy!!!!...I have also wrote a small list of bits needed at Aldi tomorrow...
So now on here having a chillout and maybe a early night for me tonight as I'm tired already..take care xx
