    Thanks! that's really useful
As long as the Santander element is discreet (like you said, on the back of the enveloppe), but also does not specify "mortgage" anywhere, it will be fine!

  • I'll let you know what mine says when it arrives in a few days! So overly excited!
  • Mine arrived today. Nothing that says mortgage on it at all until you open it. Offer received last week on Thursday and we got the offer in the post today (Monday). Quick turnaround despite everything else being slow.

Topical as we are currently 25 minutes trying to get through to them on the telephone to establish why one of our cases is not moving forward.

  • amnblog it's a long wait with very little reassurance along the way. This experience will stay with me forever. It could really damage one's mental and physical health.
  • First time poster - I have read every comment in this post since applying for my mortgage on 29/07, after being turned down elsewhere.
    It all moved quickly...
29/07 mortgage application submitted by broker
    30/07 valuation instructed
    02/08 mortgage approved!!!

Just when I thought nothing could ruin my day... 2 hours after mortgage offer received, the vendors pulled out 😢

I’m so sorry but this is exactly what happened to us, the good thing is your mortgage is approved, try and find another house u love as u have your mortgage in place for 6 months, when u find another house let your mortgage broker know and Santander can instruct another valuation on the new house, good luck

We had this but then went out and found a house that was cheaper and in a better location. We just spoke to our broker who changed the address and it was approved in the week.

Also we found that as our mortgage was already approved at a set amount , sellers wanted us over other .

Application sent, week later valuation complete, 3 days later broker said they asked for clarification on payslips, he didn't know why as they have every payslip, he referred them to the slips they had and they said oh yeah, we already have that.
Email yesterday saying back to underwriters.
I'm hoping that as the valuation has been done and they are now looking at payslips that they are happy with the valuation, and the amount I offered.

    Broker phoned yesterday, mortgage offered!!!
Just waiting on the documents through the post to sign.
Started searches last week, solicitor is saying they reckon around 3-4 weeks to completion, sounds optimistic to me, but we'll see, I'm hoping to leave a week overlap with both properties to clean and stuff, so need dates soon to give my current landlord notice.
