Santander mortgage timeline

Well 48 hours later and still nothing! MB not responding- every time we email her she tells us not to stress and it’s like um?! How can you not stress over your future! They’re working on everything from Monday so 🤞🏻 we hear tomorrow!

So sorry after everything and the wait you had also! Bloody nightmare. Who ever said house hunting was fun was lying! This has been the most stressful time of my life. Fingers crossed something better comes up for you 🤞

I know, I knew the vender was getting fed up but to take it off the market completely 😩 estate agent said they had a feeling the vender would of taken it off later on so glad in a way it happened now and not further down the line, keep me updated how’s your is going

Sorry this happened to you and hope you find something else. Do you think the vendor has pulled it because they were relying on the stamp duty holiday for their purchase and now they're worried about missing the full discount?

I don’t think so the house he was buying had fallen through a few weeks bk but was still willing to sell his house but now he’s decided not to, never mind it wasn’t meant to be, will find a better house hopefully, trying to stay positive lol

Hi,
I have been lurking a while (well a week!) and reading your updates as we are also awaiting a Santander Decision!
We are both employed with a stable income and will be porting our existing mortgage and adding an additional one on top. Our MA put the application in last Friday the 9th and hard searches were done and we received the initial text on the same day but since then nothing! 

I’m anxious as we are asking for the higher end of our suggested borrowing limits and whilst the MA thinks it’ll be okay I’m not entirely convinced! We have hedged our bets with starting our searches and completing a survey in the hope we can complete by end of June as we have cash buyer our side and chain free seller. 

Do you think it’s too early to ask for an update from MA?!

Hello welcome to the thread and the dread! 👍🏻 Our experience with a MB has not been the best. You feel like your pestering them but when we have emailed her she actually had information! I would say give them a push as it’s their job to keep you updated!

I wouldn't be shy about regularly prompting for updates - If they have 3 other people doing that and you aren't bothering them you might get left at the bottom of the pile....Obviously don't ring them 5 times a day 😂

We went direct to Santander and found the service to be really quick that way, we thought about using a broker but the wait just to speak to our preferred broker was just too long - If you go direct you have an online portal provided by Santander so get the updates directly, if you want to get things through by the end of June you might need to almost edge on feeling like a nuisance at times but IMO it's worth it
